Re: Where are cross references / text flow around images?
limitations of the RTF-format (e.g. paragraph styles, and living headers); it's not Mellels fault Well they are really, at least as far the killer for me is concerned: Mellel styles not carrying over to Word. Pages for instance manages it (though I agree 'exporting' rather than 'saving as' is a pai...

CTRL-T
I know we all get used to shortcuts but... really...
Figure out what needs swapping, cursor back to between those letters, and CTRL-T, then back to where you need to type again?
I'm sticking to hammering backspace and retyping....

scrivener
I'd second the Mellel/Scrivener combination. The quick and dirty description of Scrivener is that it's like MacJournal but with useful features (for instance, a screenplay mode, outliner and index card views, notes and annotations, wiki-esque links, snapshots, combining and splitting documents, and ...

upgrade
Why would I do that?I think that if you launch the application from the disc image
Quite. It's the lack of warning, not the price, that irritated me.19 USD for 3 years of upgrades is hardly highway robbery,

Foisted upgrade
I downloaded the latest Mellel upgrade yesterday and installed it while commuting on the train this morning, only to find my three years of free upgrades had run out and I needed to stump up another $19 for it to run without the demo restrictions and nags. I'll be paying the upgrade; Mellel's still ...

good for screenplays too
Set up each scene header as part of an inline outline and you have an instant map of the screenplay. So that's a yes.

rtf and styles
You don't really need any of the actual style information, just the fact that a given piece of text has a style, and a unique name. Mellel can then substitute them, et voila!

Using Find and Replace to apply styles
Thanks to the introduction of All Caps, I can now use Mellel for screenwriting... hurrah. However, I'm trying to figure out a way to convert the ad hoc styles brought over in an rtf to Mellel's styles. There must be a way of doing this with Find and Replace mustn't there? For instance, I want to be ...

On behalf of all the screenwriters loving Mellel because of its emphasis on structure, oh yes... Yes... YES... YESSSS!
Ori said this would be coming fairly swiftly after the big 2.1 update, and sooner or later I'm going to have start breathing again.

full screen text colour
This is a version of a post from the other bit of the forum. I'd find it really useful if colours for both foreground and background for the full screen view could be set in the Preferences pane, a bit like the current background setting, but applying to foreground as well, and specifically relating...

on screen text colour
Am I missing something? The onscreen background colour is very useful for full screen mode - personally I find the retro green on black good for my eyes - but I can't find a way of changing text colour purely for screen purposes. I have to tweak 'character style' and then tweak it back for printing....

I'd love to, my hard disc space being at a premium just now. How do I do it?
