Replacing paragraph styles with diamond prefixed
I have several character or paragraph styles whose names appear in the listing in the palette with prefixed diamond. I would like to find where they occur in my long document and replace them globally with a different style. Is this possible in Mellel? I would like to avoid just scrolling through my...

Re: What's next for Mellel 3.4?
For the next version of Mellel. Please see my earlier feature request in the forum entry "Making the bibliography window in the palette useful". The bibliography pane needs to be much more specific as to the works in the list, especially when there are more than one entry by the same autho...

Re: Getting rid of the line in the compact view?
I would favor the optional removal of the page break line. For me, Mellel view's objectionable feature is not the page break indicators but the left, right, top and bottom margins, which take up valuable screen real estate. In composing books, etc., I often have other documents side by side with the...

Re: Feature Request: Master Document for book-length documents
My books are waaaaay larger than what you are thinking about. My last one was 2000 pages. And since they are technical, requiring internal cross references, which I like to be able to use while actually in the composition stages, I hate having to divide them into separate files. In Word with the Mas...

Feature Request: Master Document for book-length documents
I have no desire to see Mellel become like MS Word: I like the way the Redlers currently do things. But there are a few capabilities that I had in MS Word that I would dearly love to have in Mellel. Experts can debate the best way to implement this. But when my book-length document is nearing comple...

Making the bibliography window in the palette useful
I mentioned this once in a posting over a year ago. I make extensive use of citations from Bookends in long documents, and would love to be able to invoke entries already used elsewhere in the long document. But the listing in the palette gives too little (or the wrong) information for me to be able...

Re: Keep Auto-Titles with following paragraph
I do appreciate your attempt to help me and thank you. But I'm afraid this still does not answer my question. Yes, I can now see what paragraph style is assigned to a particular title flow. But it is near the bottom of the window in the section where all styles are preceded by little diamonds, meani...

Re: Keep Auto-Titles with following paragraph
I don't understand how to assign a paragraph style to an auto-title. When I select Insert>Auto-titles>Edit Title Flows, there doesn't seem to be an option to assign a paragraph style to any of the flows. And under the menu Styles>Edit Style Sets there are no Auto-titles to which I can assign a style...

What can you tell us about Mellel Lite?
I just noticed in the App Store that there is a cheaper version called "Mellel Lite" and the description says it has most of what is in regular Mell for lots less money. Since I already have the full version licensed and need everything in it, I obviously am not in the market for the Lite ...

Keep Auto-Titles with following paragraph
How can I set Mellel to keep my auto titles together with the opening line or lines of the following paragraph? This is something that can be done for ordinary paragraph styles, including Headings, but I cannot discover how it can be linked to auto-titles, and this is where I need this feature. Many...

Re: and on to 3.1
These are features I consider important to be added to the next version. .docx import/export. I agree with many that this is high priority. Flo writes: "Concerning bibliography : I like the fact that the bibliography can now be placed and updated anywhere within the document. But unscanning/sca...

Absolutely! This should be the difference between computer writing and composing on paper!

Re: PDF TOC links
If I could piggy-back on this feature request, I would add that Mellel documents exported to PDF format should also preserve the links between note reference marks and the note text, i.e., hyperlinks permitting users to go from point of reference to note and back. Other word processors do this and i...

Re: Split Cursor
I would love to have this feature as well. Right now, if I type a Hebrew word with all the niqqudim, and after finishing notice one niqqud needs changing, I have no way with the present insertion point positioning to know how to correct the one error -- I have to delete the entire word and re-key it.

the insertion point
I hesitate to ask this, since it may be that controlling the appearance of the insertion point is at the system rather than application level, but I don't think it is. As you know, there is a difference between the cursor (sometimes called the "pointer") and the insertion point. The latter...
