Re: The state of the Mellel (a road map of sorts)
Hi! I don't know if I may only be hallucinating but I think when I came across Mellel a couple of years ago, it was being promoted (in reviews etc.) as a word processor meant for academic purposes. I have already put down a number of feature requests in an other thread, so I don't want to go into le...

Re: multi-page tables
You do that manually. This feature is not (yet) supported by Mellel.

Tabs inside tables
Hi! I am trying to format tables containing numbers with decimal points. I add decimal tabs to the cells but then in some cells numbers align up well, yet in other blocks of cells they don't. The tabs are there on the ruler but even if I drag them around nothing happens. However, what I found was th...

Footnote delimiter line // negative start and indent
Hi! I am formatting a large piece of text with a four-level structure. I have decided to style my headings so that they are numbered but the numbering (1.1, 1.1.1 etc.) appears with a negative indent and the heading text is aligned vertically with the body of my main text. Given the fact that negati...

Re: Wishlist for version 2.7
Hi! Sorry guys if what I am writing here has been discussed already to some degree in (an) other thread(s). I am using Mellel for 'scholarly' writing. It is in fact marketed as being particularly tailored for such purposes. Overall, I am happy with it and would never go back to MS Word. However, I t...

Re: Change the Format of Auto-Titles
Patrick, So I have started to re-create my title-flows from scratch. As a matter of fact, it seems to be a more serious problem now. I have succeeded re-creating my Level 1, but when I want to edit my Level 2 one (adding variable 'previous level #') it crashes. Tried it a number of times. It crashes...

Re: Change the Format of Auto-Titles
Patrick, Thanks for your response. I did dig up the auto-title files last night after getting fed up with unexpected quits. It is a drag that I need to recreate the title-flows. This is a dissertation with 4 levels of auto-titles, definitions for un-numbered chapters, equations, tables, figures, hyp...

Re: Change the Format of Auto-Titles
Hi! I am trying to modify the appearance of my auto-titles. Whenever the auto-titles window comes up and I try to select something other than what is selected by default (level 1), Mellel crashes. 10 times out of 10. I work with a customized title flow. Strangely enough it only happens with this one...

Re: Page numbering question
I guess that I am stuck with the same problem. I am styling my dissertation. I am using facing pages with odd/even pages having different headers (left/right alignment of the page number plus chapter title). On the first page of each title, however, I would like to omit the header (which is no probl...

Re: Dissertation page numbering
Following the lead provided by an other thread on equation numbering, I changed the writing direction (to right-to-left) of the header paragraph containing the page number and the auto-title mention and then left-aligned it and it came out as I wished. Again, the problem was caused by the fact that ...

Re: Dissertation page numbering
I have been trying to figure out the numbering for my dissertation as well. I am succeeding with alternate numbering and page style breaks. My problem is as follows. I would like to have a chapter title mention in the header and also the page number like this: "Chapter X | Page Y" on odd p...
