Re: Fonts in Mellel for iPad

I'm afraid Apple has made changes in iOS 14 that blocks apps from using custom installed fonts if they're not using the modern font access API. A fix is in the making and will be available in Mellel 5.0.5 Any time estimate on this fix? I will be starting a new project next week and am deciding betw...

Re: Best Hebrew Font?

Here is a very good tutorial on how to use Hebrew in Keynote. The trick is to use a table rather than a bullet list. http://www.cs.technion.ac.il/~shaulm/keynote/ BTW using a table works in Pages as well. As far as the font goes. I find the one that comes with Mac OS X (New Peninim) works fine for m...

Re: iPad Version

While I don't have strong feelings as to whether Mellel makes it to the iPad, something that would be REALLY good has already been mentioned - being able to at least read Mellel files on the iPad. I'd like to suggest that the Redlers work with the developers of DEVONthink's upcoming iPad/iPhone app...

Re: In case of emergency…

Hi all--I'd just like to say that two of the things I've come to value most about Mellel are its speed and its stability. Well--third thing--I also admire its comparative simplicity, once one understands a few of its operating concepts. In the all-too-common rush to have new releases, upgrades, add...

Re: In case of emergency…

Jim, I didn't think asking that we be careful about how things were said was "off topic," certainly not for those in the community who might have been offended. It would have mattered to you had you been, I'm sure. In response to your query, only the Redlers can say when Mellel will be developed fu...

Re: In case of emergency…

C'mon, let's keep on topic. This is very important to me. If something doesn't happen soon I will be switching to Nisus, even though I don't want to.

I will not be caught with my "shorts down" again.

Re: In case of emergency…

When I originally posted this, I wasn't so much concerned about new features, I can live with the features already present, I would simply like to know if there will be someone around to keep the program compatible with future OS updates. That was my problem with MindWrite. It was seen again with th...

Re: In case of emergency…

I might not be the greatest expert with Mellel but, for my experience, there is no way to preserve the list levels. I'm not sure either if we may expect that it could be compatible with another software one day as Redlers do things their way (it gives us a great tool but there are some caveats, as ...

In case of emergency…

I don't know if speculation is allowed on this board so I will phrase this in the form of a hypothetical question. First of all I have used Mellel for about a year, I think, and I love it to death. On the other hand I used to use a program called "MindWrite" and loved it also. When they went out of ...

Re: Problem with bookends and journal articles

The problem seems to have been with Bookends (although they told me it was with Mellel). Their latest release seems to have fixed it.

The bibliography works fine, it's the footnoted citations that don't.
