Re: Small request (option for "paste plain text" as default)
The TUAW tip shows the right way to change the keyboard shortcut. It is important that you use the exact name of the menu item. In Mellel (beta 3.0 that is, I can't check if in earlier versions this item is named differently) it is "Plain Text". If you use Mellel with a non-English user i...

Re: Small request (option for "paste plain text" as default)
I paste into most of my work. The key combo CMD+OPT+SHIFT+V is second nature, I don't even think about it (except when I use NWP, then it is CMD+SHIFT+V). And much of my work is academic. Really? It's extremely awkward for me to achieve with just one hand. Anyways, here's a screenshot of Bookends' ...

Re: Small request (option for "paste plain text" as default)
The only thing I could find on changing it at the OS level was this , and that didn't work for me (Mac OS 10.7.3). I'd still like to see Mellel have a "paste-as-plaintext by default (⌘-V)" option! Alt-Cmd-Shift-V is a really nasty short-cut to use regularly :/ Actually retaining formatting...

Thanks Jon, changing that option sorted it out.

Re: Putting a ; character in a reference comment
I'm using Bookends. Could be a Bookends bug?

Putting a ; character in a reference comment
I'm having a problem including a semi-colon in some custom text before a reference. If I put this in the reference window (Edit Citation); \my text \Wells and Quinlivan, 2008, Law and Human Behavior, 33, 1-24 then reference scans properly on looks like this; (my text Wells & Quinlivan, 2008). wh...

Re: Landscape and Portrait in the same Document
The PDF hack doesn't seem to be sufficient for serious work. That's a lot of messing about for a page where there may be a very long table (something like a correlation matrix say). Mixing portrait/landscape in the same document would be very cool.

Re: Small request (option for "paste plain text" as default)
Yep, I would like to be able to do that with Cmd-V (by default). Thanks for the tip on Keyboard Maestro, be great to see the option in Mellel though (Bookends has it already )

Small request (option for "paste plain text" as default)
I find that when I'm using Mellel (for academic papers) I almost never want to paste text and retain the formatting. Could there be an option to make "paste as plain text" the default? Bookends has this option, and I find it very nice. Sorry if this is already possible, I couldn't see any ...

Show name only for citation?
Is there an operator to show only the author name in a citation (like the % to show only date)? At the moment I have to manually change certain citations after scanning (double clicking and changing "Formatted Citation"), but this is overwritten by the default (Name, Year) when I do a resc...

Re: To Undo or not to Undo..
I'd like to see an unlimited session undo, meaning that as long as you have Mellel open, you can undo/redo right back to the beginning and back again, whether you've saved or not. However, once you save and close the program , the undo buffer is erased. Next time you open the file, the undo buffer s...

Re: Chapter Word Count
Old thread, but I'd like to throw my support behind this idea. It would be nice if when you clicked on an outline heading (in the outline panel), you got stats for that section in the stats panel (in addition to the whole doc stats too).

Vertical Alignment (Centre)
Hi all,
I've just started using Mellel, and I'm trying to make an APA styleset for my uni course. The cover page is supposed to have some text centred both horizontally and vertically on the page, but I can't figure out how centre it vertically. Does any one know how I can achieve this?
Thanks.
