Re: Mellel 3.1
Redlers, It's been more than a month since I wrote support once again describing my issues with Mellel 2.8 and later. You even suggested earlier in this thread that I try writing support again. So I did, but haven't gotten any response. tvaughan, I recall that same issue. I don't recall exactly how ...

Mellel 3.1
So I tried 3.1. Then I found that I had to re-do my standard template from scratch. Mellel had messed with the line-spacing (WTF?), the line justification (left to expand-to-fill-the-width), the style of the page numbers (plain to bold), page size (letter to A4), and had selected for me a different ...

Re: Mellel Can't Save Document
Good suggestion from rpcameron above. Another suggestion: have you tried copying the document (command-a for select all, command-c for copy) and pasting it into a brand new mellel document? 400 pp. is certainly a lot on the clipboard but it should be able to do the copy and paste. It's at least wort...

Redlers: Trying to get in touch via the Support page...
Redlers, I've been trying to get in touch via the Mellel Support page but after a few tries I haven't heard anything back. I'm still experiencing less than optimal performance with every version of Mellel since 2.8. The "Choppy deletion" thread describes my issue. Any chance you could cont...

Re: Choppy deletion
The added features in Mellel 3.0 are nice. The new interface is nice, too. But the old problem of choppy deletion persists. I'd love the upgrade but for this. I'll be sticking to Mellel 2.7.2.

Re: Mellel becoming sluggish and unresponsive
One more suggestion, which has worked for me... I put the Mellel 2.9 app in trash - I just keep it there without emptying it from the trash. I take it out of the trash when I need it. This way, if you click on a Mellel document, by default Mac OS will open it with the Mellel 2.7.2 app in your applic...

Re: Mellel becoming sluggish and unresponsive
harryhoffner, I did encounter exactly the problem you describe with the "missing text model dictionary" error message. However, I think you will find that if you open a new, blank document in 2.7.2 and then choose open from the file menu and then select your document, that the document wil...

Re: Mellel becoming sluggish and unresponsive
Harryhoffner, If you hear back from the Redlers, would you post what they said? I'd love to know the solution, too, if there is one (besides downgrading to 2.7).
Thanks.
Thanks.

Re: Mellel becoming sluggish and unresponsive
harryhoffner, I really like Mellel, but I know your pain. It slowed down for me too. Perhaps if you write to the Redlers, they will be able to identify your problem. But, (1) you will be lucky if you get a response and (2) the response I received was no help. My suspicion is that you and I and sever...

Re: Unable to open document
dylan, Yes, you are right that 2.6 (and 2.7) will not open documents created or modified in 2.9 (and 2.8?). I dealt with a similar problem, since I have downgraded from 2.9 to 2.7 for reasons noted in "Choppy deletion" and "Select and delete" in the other Mellel forum. I had to d...

este.el.paz, Redlers,
Any ideas regarding "Choppy deletion" and "Select and delete"? I wrote to support a while back, as was suggested, but it's just crickets.

Re: Mr Mel drops like a stone w/trying to select & delete
My guess is that the trouble este.el.paz is experiencing is the result of changes introduced in 2.8 and carried into 2.9. I have reverted to 2.7 for exactly the sort of trouble este.el.paz is experiencing. Mellel is a fabulous word processor. But I would love to hear the Redler's thoughts on this an...

Re: Choppy deletion
The "choppy deletion" thread keeps getting hits. I'm guessing there are others who have experienced what I have - that Mellel 2.8 and 2.9 are generally sluggish compared to 2.7. One thing that I noticed several months ago - the error log in the console that grew with every character typed ...
