I think the objections to this idea are a little pedantic. Save and Export are conceptually different, but there is a practical problem here. Using a non-mainstream WP in a Word-oriented world. These are good suggestions. I particularly like ignoring the % marks and other preceding text. I frequently insert text before the citation itself, for example, \for a review, see \ ...
