Re: Comments on comments

Dear all No comment in 6 months on that? I am quite sure that I am not the only one with this problem. May be I wrongly retranslated from French: I meant the yellow annotations. When printed, they are on the very far-left side of the page, so that their left side is outside of the printed zone and i...

Comments on comments

Dear all Two comments on comments in 4.0 -when printing a text with (yellow) comments, the comments will be aligned on the left margin of the (A4) page. The problem is that printers always have a small non-printable margin. So that when printing the text, the left part of the commentaries falls into...

Re: INDEX

I have an email from Ori, dated April 30 2006, promising indexing for 2006. For me also, Mellel will be something of the past soon without indexing. It would be a pity : I have written and published 3 books with Mellel.

or to put it differently : any automated way to have the typographically correct abbreviated form for ordinals, that is with the final letters in upperscript?

search and replace for abbreviated ordinals

Hello is there any convenient way to make a search and replace of abbreviated ordinals, for instance 2nd, by 2nd with the final nd in upperscript, that is the correct typography of such an ordinal? What I can see right now is to search for all "2nd", change "2nd" to upperscript, and then search for ...

Re: Feature Request: line numbers

Indexing is an important feature, of course, and I’d like to see it too, but I am using Mellel in an academic environment and nobody has ever mentioned anything about indexing. So that Mellel is also a tool for "scholars" is not a joke or false, it simply correct. There are scholars that don’t need...

Re: Color

Etienne, have you considered using style variations? You can define a variation called "color" or "problem" or whathaveyou. Then, all you need to do to change color is to click on the variation window in the Character Style palette or use one of the keyboard shortcuts. Janet Yes, I have done that i...

Color

One small improvement: I regard the path to change the color of the font in mellel as quite cumbersome. Basically I would make use of one single color in a text, on top of black, to signal a problem. A useful feature in Word is that it will "remember" which color on top of black I have made use last...

Not only sorting the language order, but also the ultimate possibility to choose the letter order. Re: Indexing...

First of all I think it is unnecessary to imagine that Mellel will compete with the professionnal indexing tools. What we need is a robust and simple indexing tool adapted to the main strength of Mellel, its multilingual abilities. So that as regard features I would regard as necessary are -sub-entr...

Re: Feature Request: line numbers

Yes, I agree. I do still have a private email of Ori saying that in 2006. What I am saying is that on the front page of www.redlers.com "Mellel is a powerful, reliable word processor, and a long time favorite with writers and scholars, for long document writing." is simply a joke, something false. I...
