Re: Keyboard text shortcuts in system preferences

Yeah, not working for me. Tried various documents. Wondering if there's an override setting in Mellel or something.

Keyboard text shortcuts in system preferences

I'm writing a book on the Gospel of Matthew, and I'm going to type "Gospel of Matthew" umpteen times. I had set up a thing in the OS's system preferences under keyboard where if I type /gom/ I should get Gospel of Matthew in the text. It works in Word and internet entry boxes from search e...

Re: Block quotes

Thanks--I can't imagine being enough of a power uses 7 years ago to have done that, but OK...I'll take it from here. Thanks.

Re: Block quotes

Sure enough, when I look at an old mellel file for a book I wrote, I find Block Quote in the paragraph styles list, but in my newer documents it's not there. Anyone help?

Block quotes

Did block quotes disappear from the paragraph style menu? I simply can't find it anywhere, nor in the Mellel guide.

Re: Help! Auto-titles made for a page break

I didn't figure it out, but I was able to use some Lorem Ipsum to get text between the autotitles, and then simply delete the Lorem and a bunch of empty space to bring the autotitles next to each other again. Weird.

Re: Help! Auto-titles made for a page break

Yes, I was working in there, but can't find anything obvious. The weird thing is, the first dozen or so are normal--no breaks, as such:

autotitle entry
autotitle entry
autotitle entry
etc

but then the pattern in my original comment obtains.

Help! Auto-titles made for a page break

Hi--I'm writing a book, and set up several dozen sections. After about a dozen of them, mellel decided to basically make each one a blank page, as if there were a page break after each. I was playing around in character and attributes, but not sure how it happened, or, more importantly, how to fix i...

Re: Small caps for LORD

It's customary to print LORD in small caps in English translations of the Old Testament/Hebrew Bible when in the Hebrew there's the Divine Name of YHWH, which Jews would never pronounce as it's the sacred Name of God, so they'd pronounce "Adonai," Lord, instead. Hence LORD in English.

Re: Small caps for LORD

Thanks much. I have to export the document to Word for the publisher; maybe it'd make more sense to do the smallcaps formatting in Word, esp if I can't be confident Mellel would transfer it over properly.
