Re: index all?
is there a simple and quick way to index all the words of a text? As far as I can see, no. However, you can do this automatically in Nisus. The program generates a word list and/or frequency list, and you can index your file in one fell swoop based on the word list. Before you insert the index, you...

Dear CAUBRY et al,
Any update on this matter? Did you contact support? And what did they say?

Re: Inserting citations from Bookends
hitting OK no longer seems to deliver the citation into the Mellel document as it once did. Make sure Bookends is allowed to talk to Mellel. See the fourth last post in this thread: https://www.sonnysoftware.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=4864&p=22050 Scroll down to the fourth last post and start r...

Re: Selecting all footnotes
This feature still doesn't exist ? I think the developer has made it clear that this feature will be implemented on Sankt Nimmerleinstag , as the Germans use to say (no, I'm not German.) Mellel is the only major word processor today that doesn't offer non-contiguous selection, and apparently – base...

Re: Exporting document in WORD Format
We have success!! You see… that's what I meant! Since we all use the same program (Mellel) it's easy to send a file to another member of the forum for inspection. If a picture is worth a thousand words, an original document is worth two thousand words, if I may use that expression. With Messages.ap...

Re: Exporting document in WORD Format
Yes, this is getting silly: involving the entire Forum in the process Well, not really. The discussion has revealed some fundamental truth: 1. Here we have a user who has written 200 pages in Mellel without obviously ever taking the time to read the Mellel Guide. No wonder that he encounters proble...

Re: Changing Note Atrributes with unintended results
Eventually, I fixed the situation directly in the exported document in Word, by selecting all the footnotes there. So you left the problem in Mellel unresolved… Just "selecting all the footnotes there" won't fix anything. Therefore, please be so kind and share more details with us about what you di...

Re: Changing Note Atrributes with unintended results
General remarks about adding character styles to a paragraph style Unlike Nisus, where adding character styles to a paragraph style never leads to problems, Mellel is different. Rule 1 If you want to add character styles in Mellel to a text with a paragraph style and want to make the character styl...

Re: Changing Note Atrributes with unintended results
1. Go back to the point in time before you started meddling with the Note attributes and all words with the Small Caps character style were visible in your notes. 2. To begin with, make sure you have a character style called "Note text". Select it by clicking ONLY once on it in the character pane. W...

Re: Vocabulary test
This implies that unknown words and phrases be turned into bookmarks with markers to highlight and filter them in the Outline pane.Manually, there is Edit\Markers\Find previous marked text (or next).
Thank you for your additional/alternative suggestion.

Vocabulary test
I have just finished reading a long novel in Mellel. I assigned the color magenta to words and phrases that I am unfamiliar with. How can I search for whole paragraphs (or sentences) in which such words appear? I need to get all these words in their proper context and then paste the paragraphs into ...

Re: Keeping caption and figure together
Feature, I guess, but if you want to know for sure you'll have to ask the Redlers. Is this effect a bug or a feature?
You are welcome, Paul. Thanks for the sleuthing.

Re: Keeping caption and figure together
The culprit is the figure. Double click on it and uncheck the check-box "Image causes wrap." Caption and figure are now together.
