Re: Bibliography insists in being placed in a new page

I see you have got *two* breaks: a section break (which is created after the last character in the document when you scan it. That is normal) and a line break which I don't get when I scan my test document. Why does your document end with a line break (instead of Return)?

Re: Bibliography insists in being placed in a new page

The difference between my Esilo do parágrafo Bibliografia and your Esilo is that Margens Origem by me is 21 pt. "Também na parte superior da pág/col" is NOT enabled by me. Under "Manter opções" 'Manter linhas juntas is NOT enabled by me. I don't know whether this is of any relevance here, but you co...

Re: Bibliography insists in being placed in a new page

Now the whole thing is subordinate to the introduction, which is very weird in my view. I thought I had found the solution, but you are right, something is rotten here. By me the chapters and sub-chapters are subordinate to the Introduction in the Outline, but the Conclusion and the References are ...

Not by me. I'll upload a test document for you later today so you can take a close look at it.

Re: Bibliography insists in being placed in a new page

The way I've worked around this is by creating a tag flow for these chapters […] I'm going crazy with these. Can anybody help me? Use Auto-Title Heading 1 for Introduction, Conclusions and References. Make sure the setting for Format , TOC format and Outline format has only 'Title' (no number.) For...

ALLCAPS case setting (either with styles or with character formatting) is not coming across.
Neither All Caps nor Small Caps come across.

Re: search and replace for abbreviated ordinals

the ability to create stylistically complex find/replace directly in a single action would be useful That's pretty obvious. But this is not going to happen (in the near future), so the question is: can this be easily achieved in another way. And the answer is yes. Let me know when you have imported...

Re: Date and Time Stamps

Hello Etienne, So you want to print an intermediate version of your work. Thanks for explaining. Then the date stamps "Document Last Saved Date" or "Document Last Saved Date & Time" would be the right thing. Nisus provides both and a plethora of additional date formats. All in all 12 formats, and th...

Re: Date and Time Stamps

I don't understand why you would want to do this, so it would be good if you could clarify a few things. Do you want to manually enter the date and time when the document was last saved into your document? If yes, where? At the bottom, at the end of the text? If the document is autosaved in regular ...

Re: search and replace for abbreviated ordinals

Hello Etienne, In "Find/Replace" we can only choose a style for a whole word or sequence of words. It is impossible to apply a specific style to each letter. But it would be very useful. You mean like in Nisus? Yes, that would be useful if Mellel users could do that too. — You should send this as a ...

Re: Facing a new decade

Hello Paul,
1. Footnotes. Sani is saying that *if* you choose to use a tab in the Note symbol format, this is not converted correctly, and he is right.
2. Sani means, captions should be "glued" to the figure/table. If you move the figure/table around, the caption should automatically follow.

Re: footnotes in files exported to rtf

These default files, called Factory Templates, all have a factory setting set to 'Restart every page.' I'm not sure, but perhaps one of these files is used by Mellel as an import template . A while ago we asked Eyal for conformation. He is obviously not going to answer, so I went on, alone… Yes, I ...

If for some reason, one is labeling footnotes with *, dagger, etc., rather than numbers, then restarting each page is preferable.
Yes, you are right, Paul. That makes sense. I remember having seen that.

Thanks for clarifying.
