Applying page style changes entire document instead of point of application forward
I have created a dissertation template for CMOS/Turabian with Mellel 5.1.3 on Big Sur 11.7. There is a page style for front matter, another for back matter, another for TOC, and another for chapters. Front matter uses lowercase Roman numerals in the footer, unnumbered first page, then Arabic numeral...

Re: TOC setup margins and indent
Thanks, Amontillado. The simple solution came from watching more Mellel videos, looking at Auto-Title settings and using the Mellel manual in Mellel format: Mellel 5.1 Guide in Mellel Format The Mellel guide is itself an example of how most features are used with proper settings (like well-written c...

Re: TOC setup margins and indent
The document itself isn't having any margin problems. My auto-title streams have an end margin of 6.5 inches in the format areas. The reverse tab and leading dots for Levels 1 and 2 work properly, but an end margin changes randomly to between 1.5 and 4 inches from the left border when I delete and r...

TOC setup margins and indent
I have my auto-title streams setup with correct formatting in my main document and in my TOC within the Configure Auto-Titles window but with one exception. When I Insert > TOC, I get a TOC with an end margin at every stream level that is 25–40% of the usable width of the document (8.5x11in with 1.2...

Re: Editing character and paragraph attributes of Auto-title
Thanks to Amontillado and Icelander. The short list of steps that I gleaned from your advice has worked. They are: 1. Create a paragraph style and an associated character style for each level of auto-title stream (I chose to create an identical stream name, paragraph style and character style for ea...

Editing character and paragraph attributes of Auto-title
I am tweaking a CMOS/Turabian template for use with a dissertation. I have several paragraph and associated character styles created that work well with body text and headers. I have watched Eyal's videos on auto-titles (AT) but am missing the step that associates an AT with a paragraph and characte...

Change the template for an existing document
I began writing a dissertation in 2020 with a default Mellel template. This year, I customized a CMOS (Chicago Manual of Style/Turabian) template for my current school with adaptations for its additional style guide (special formatting and SBL additions). How can I apply this new template to the exi...

Auto Title maintains paragraph attributes after Return
I have Auto Title setup at Level 2 and Second-Level Heading paragraph style with 24 pt above and 18 pt below. Associated character style: Subheading and Next paragraph style: Body. Level 2 title flow is 'Curr# . Title Tab LineBreak'. I expect my next line after the Auto Title to revert to Body parag...

Re: Hebrew word breaks at end of line character
Working on the bug report, I observed interesting behavior. I copied and pasted Genesis 1:1 and 1:2 from Accordance BHS text into the same document that I have been using. It maintains its expected proper word wrap when placed in a Mellel table which I resized. Likewise, when I copy text from Sefari...

Re: Hebrew word breaks at end of line character
Janet, I am getting the same performance with hyphenation either on (with customization) or off completely. I do not find any solutions in documentation for Mellel Hyphenation Lab. If I resize the font, whatever characters fill the width of the line wrap to the next without regard to the placement i...

Re: Hebrew word breaks at end of line character
I can create the odd behavior in a Hebrew only RTL doc, but it behaves moderately better. I am using Biblical Hebrew-TIRO with Ezra SIL. The initial question was in an English document with Hebrew as secondary but typing a paragraph that was all Hebrew. I just turned on hyphenation and set עברית as ...

Hebrew word breaks at end of line character
I am typing text into a document in Mellel 4. When a Hebrew word reaches the end of a line, the word breaks at the letter that reached the end of the line instead of wrapping the word to the next line as it does with with English. Is there a setting I am missing that forces word wrap in Hebrew? The ...

Re: Create placeholder for Hebrew vowels
Janet and Darryl, Thanks much for your feedback. Arial Hebrew, Tahoma, and Cardo fonts allow the dotted circle to be placed. When adding diacritics, they either align slightly left- or right-of-center--never midline with the letter above. TAAMIM goes beyond my training thus far (but I would like res...

Re: Create placeholder for Hebrew vowels
Janet, I tried your suggestion with the unicode dotted circle with Ezra SIL (and SR), Tahoma, Cardo, Shlomo (a variant of Ezra?), Raanana, Arial Hebrew, New Peninim MT, and Corsiva Hebrew. I have also opened a new Mellel document with Hebrew as the first font and changed among the above fonts. The b...

Re: Create placeholder for Hebrew vowels
Et cetera, I can place the Dotted Circle unicode character in my Mellel document, but unlike the behavior with any actual Hebrew letter, the diacritics will not line up but either appear just outside the left or right border of the vertical edge of the circle as below. The closest I can come from a ...
