Well, many of us CANNOT wait. Of course there is no use in releasing a half-finished product, but why isn't it whole-finished now? They promised us cross-referencing before the end of 2006, and it is still not here. I think we have to realise that although the product Mellel is great, the company Re...

Boban, the greatest advantage of Mellel over Word, as I see it, is that Mellel is so much more stable and fast. I recently wrote a 370 pages book in Mellel, and never had any stability or speed problems at all. (Well, towards the end it took a few seconds to open the document.) Last time I tried ope...

Re: Cross referencing

Wonderful that this feature is coming near! In my 370 pages dissertation I make references to different parts of the book all the time, and it has been a pain not to have any automatic cross references. (It would have been great to have the feature earlier...) To answer Ori: 1. I think Word's system...

Re: Save problem

I am having a similar problem: suddenly I cannot save any changes. Using 2.1.1, when I make changes in a document and try to save it, a copy of the file is created with a tilde (~) appended to the name. I assume that is meant to be a temporary file. However, the tilde file never disappears, and aft...

Thanks for your help.

A pre-XML version of Mellel won't be able to read my XML-converted document, right? So I guess I need Mellel 2.1. Have you got that one, too?

I describe my problem in this thread http://forum.redlers.com/viewtopic.php?t=600 I am currently making the last changes to my dissertation, and I do not want to discover that every other formatting change cannot be saved. I do not know if older versions of Mellel will help, but it is worth a try. S...

Save problem

I manage to reproduce the problem: 1. Start Mellel and create a new document. 2. Type som text on several lines (several paragraphs, to make a list) 3. Save the document. 4. Select some of the lines, and create a list. 5. Choose arabic digits for the list 6. Set the character variation to italic 7. ...

Older versions of Mellel

I am having major problems with Mellel 2.1.1. Is there a way to get hold of an older version (say, 2.1)?

The xml file can be quite large, also for very simple document, and it can take quite some time to open it in a text editor. On my iBook G4 1.33 MHz 700 MB it took about 50 seconds to open a simple Mellel document in Smultron. (I guess it has something to do with the fact that the xml document more ...
