we really, really need this. anybody working on longer documents — let alone dissertations, books etc. — knows how important this functionality is.

I can now confirm that this bug is still present in Mellel 4

wow. this is still the case, five years later. makes document variables totally useless for anybody who has to have a long title, which in academic writing is not that rare.

hear! hear! The thing is, this is not a problem only for 40+ users, but also for those of us using big screens. The outline is really written in such small letters and for some reason Mellel is not letting us style the Outline Pane in the AutoTitles editing mode. This option is indeed grayed out. Why?

is there a way to increase the font size of the outline pane? working in full-screen mode on a large monitor is very hard for me because the text in the outline is too small.

Is it still not possible in Mellel to draw a line across the page (other than using underscores or tables) -- the kind of line one sometimes sees at the top of a printed page, in the header?

Does Mellel still have no elegant solution for incorporating unnumbered auto-titles for introduction, conclusion, epilogue etc. with numbered chapter autotitles?
