Re: New "Update" section on website
It should be ‘paid’ in British English too.

Re: New "Update" section on website
It's all very clear.
You have a typo, though:
"Retrive your old license code from your records."
Should be: "Retrieve your old license code from your records."

Re: Mellel and Bookends on a MacOS High Sierra Version 10.13.6
I'm on 10.13.6 and haven't noticed any problems with Mellel or Bookends, both of which I use frequently. One caveat: I haven't used them together for months, so I can't tell you whether that is working, but I have no reason to think not.

Re: Manuscript for publication: doc, PDF and InDesign?
Manu: I'm hoping to use Mellel more, but expecting to use it about the same, for the reasons given here. I wanted to add a bit of nuance to what I wrote before. I think that the problem for academics is more complex than I said. Plenty of academic publishers are happy with text that has very basic c...

Re: Manuscript for publication: doc, PDF and InDesign?
Glad to see this debate. I very much agree that it's desirable that Mellel be able to export Word files with named styles, and I agree with Manu's reason: writers generally need to produce such files when they send work to publishers. For me (also an academic) the lack of this ability means that I c...

Re: Bug: Mellel/Sente does not respect "do not enclose citat
My point was just that the bug is probably at the Sente end of the interaction, so it's probably the Sente developers who can fix it.

Re: Bug: Mellel/Sente does not respect "do not enclose citat
Of course, you should have had a response from the developers by now, but I think it's wrong to conclude that the problem is caused by Mellel. This option works fine with Bookends. So I think you might be better off asking the Sente developers why they haven't fixed it.

Re: Dealing with a large doc
That is odd, particularly given that the cut and paste method has limitations. It doesn't really work if you've got numbered auto-titles, since what was (e.g.) section 4.3 will suddenly be section 1.1. A workaround is to insert page breaks if necessary at the beginning and end of the section you wan...

Re: inserting page numbers
The following will change the punctuation for all citations with cited pages: In Bookends, choose Biblio>Formats Manager... Then choose the Citation Options tab. Then the Common Settings sub tab. Then edit the text labelled 'Before' under Cited Pages. It probably has , You need to change that to :

Re: Scrivener Export to Mellel
I agree 100%. See my other post, upthread. In this post I was only commenting on whether it's currently possible to do what flips is after: "to export with formatting/styles intact… it would be nice if the styles are recognized so I just can change the look of the style in Mellel." And the...

Re: Scrivener Export to Mellel
I think that what you want is impossible at both ends. Scrivener doesn't have proper text styles, only ad hoc text formatting. That can be applied with 'Presets', but Scrivener doesn't keep track of which text has been formatted with which preset. There's no way to apply a new format to all and only...

It's now the little down arrow on the thin buttons to the right of 'Find:' and 'Replace:', i.e. immediately to the left of each text field in the dialogue.
