Re: Feature Request: line numbers

Thanks,Ori...line numbering is mandatory when submitting manuscripts to some publishers. Looking forward to it.

multi-page tables

How do you guys deal with tables that span more than one page? I have a few with an auto-numbered table caption that precedes the table, then column labels, and the body of the table. If the table won't fit on one page it spills over to the next, but looks like an orphan with no caption or column la...

Re: line numbering

At the moment, you cannot, because it does not exist. Ouch! Is there absolutely no practical workaround. I absolutely have to have line numbering in my manuscript! CJ  Yes, it's rare for me to submit a manuscript for publication without the journal requiring line numbering for the peer-reviewe...

Thanks, Dylan. Now I have a reason to upgrade to 2.7.

Equations, LatexIt, and Auto-numbering

Has anyone had any luck auto-numbering equations generated by Latexit, say, in the style of a LaTeX article (i.e., the equation is centered and the number is right-aligned)?

Thanks,

Strange appearance of unwanted lines???

I'm getting the apparently random appearance of strange lines in my text that appear after editing text and disappear as soon as I save the document. However, they can reappear as soon as I hit the space bar. I'm using Leopard, mostly Latin Modern Roman fonts, and a screen view in Mellel of 134% on ...

Re: Font size of citation and bibligrapy

When I've had the problem of the citation style changing when I do a scan, it's always because the temporary citation inside the citation dialog was set incorrectly. DRM Yea, I found this out the hard way yesterday after about 2 hours of struggling to find where a mystery character style was coming...

Request: Prevent extra spaces

One, perhaps the only, feature of Framemaker I miss since migrating to Mac OS NeXT and Mellel is the ability to limit the number of consecutive spaces entered by pressing the spacebar. In FM, you can enable a preference that will only allow one space to be entered. Perhaps I need to write a macro, A...

Re: Mellel 2.6 and Sente 5.7.2

Indeed. If you have 2.6 and suffer from this problem, downgrade to 2.5 for a few days. If you don't suffer from this problem (e.g., you enjoy getting ??? in your manuscripts), you can keep 2.6 (this was a joke!!!!!!!!!). Or just re-download and re-install Bookends 10.4.3 and keep 2.6...that fixed i...

Custom keyboard shortcuts in 2.6

Well, I haven't tried this in previous versions, but I can't seem to assign a custom shortcut to, say, the Insert > Image... menu item. I've tried, for example, adding ^I in the System Preferences and that does show up in Mellel, but nothing happens. Perhaps there is a conflict with a previously def...

Re: Should I use Mellel?

Mellel allowed me to combine all 7 chapters in one document with seamless integration with Bookends. It's WYSIWYG is much more conducive to my wordsmithing workflow than writing a LaTeX program, "escaping" all the "special" characters, then compiling a PDF. My god, you can't eve...

Re: Should I use Mellel?

In a word, no. Mellel doesn't include cross references and a thesis with manual cross references is going to be pretty impossible. I did mine in Latex. My 255 page thesis was replete with manual cross references, figures, tables, equations, and 20 pages of bibliographic references. Previous version...
