Re: How do Mellel users take notes?
I am a scholar of literary history, a philologist and a translator. All my note taking is in Scrivener; I have a Scrivener project for everything I'm interested in. Parallel to each Scrivener project, I have a Devonthink database, for storing pdf's etc. And Bookends for bibliography. These three app...

Re: Update ToC in Mellel iPad?
You mean an automatic update, I suppose? This feature doesn't even exist in the Mac version of Mellel.

My eyes too are not young anymore, and I must confess I had (and have) the same experience as miles11.

Re: Mellel 4
Similar improvements have been asked for many, many times on this forum (see for instance here
but to no avail.

Re: Mellel 4
Well, yes, but that message implies only that version 4 "is coming". And that's something that has been generally known for at least six months. So nothing new.
Re: Mellel 4
On december 18th, tomorrow exactly four months ago, I was among those who purchased an upgrade to Mellel 4, which was then offered at a special price, and said to come available "soon". "Soon" of course is a relative concept, and the new upgrade will introduce (as we were told not four but some six ...

Invisible note symbols in footnotes
Is there a way to make both the reference symbol of a footnote in the main text and the note symbol at the beginning of the footnote itself invisible? That would be a wonderful way to tie pieces of text which are not exactly meant as footnotes to other pieces of text: for instance, a translation to ...

Re: The new upgrade policy
Ori, thanks for the clear and detailed explanation. This point of view deserves full respect (though if the company had decided to extend the upgrade fee to all license holders, in my opinion it would have been wholly inappropriate to speak of deceitful conduct). But there still are some questions w...

The new upgrade policy
Today many of us received an email in which the Redlers let us know that their lifetime-free-updates policy has come to an end. From now on, every two years we'll have to pay an upgrade fee in order to get new updates. So we'll go back to the situation existing until 2011. When in 2011 the lifetime-...

Re: critical edition
No, Pauline, this is not possible: not with Mellel, nor with Word or any other conventional word processor. No word processor was ever designed for similar things. Please don't waste your time trying to square the circle. For what you want, there are only two possibilities: - Classical Text Editor (...

Re: Mellel developers... you out there?
I fully agree with rpcameron. Personally, I care very little about versions for other platforms. I'd rather see improved the present version of Mellel, which for me (and perhaps not only for me) will remain the only that really matters.
