Re: Secondary font question

I will attach an image of the secondary font setup. Well I was going to but could not get the image into the post. But as far as I can tell, my character style is according to what you are saying. I will have to figure out how to post a picture. Thank for your willingness to help!

Re: Footnote Continuation Separator - longer line

the footnote continuation separator is used when a footnote is too long to fit on the page and must be continued on the following page. Usually, this is a longer line which signals readers that there is something different about these notes. In Mellel, all lines are the same length. Have I overlook...

Re: Secondary font question

I need to put quite a few quotations in Greek in the footnotes of my document. The document itself is written in English. I am trying to set up the secondary font so that it will cover that and invoke the Doulos SIL font when I am copying the Greek text from the document in which I have compiled th...

Copy paragraph style to a different style set

When I drag a paragraph style over to a different style said I get a green +, which seems to indicate it should copy, but it does not. Is it possible to copy a paragraph style from one style said to another or do you have to re-created from scratch? Allow me to elaborate. I wanted to move a certain ...

Mellel and Dragon

I love your word processor for my academic writing chores. The integration of Bookends is extremely helpful. As are many of the other features like auto titles etc. This is more of a request. I like to do my writing in your program, particularly after I have sketched out the basics in Scrivener. The...

The Holiday announcement

In some of the version of the announcement, it reminds you that if you "upgrade" now, 4.0 will be free. Question: how do we know if you qualify for 4.0 free or if we should go ahead and "upgrade" now?

Re: Not Scanning Bibliographic Links with Sente

Hello, I've been happily using Mellel with Sente with no problems. Recently, though, when I hit "Scan document" (with Sente open in the background), it brings up a window saying "Scanning document . . . " and just sits there without anything happening. It is only doing this with one document; other...

Re: Live Bib, chapters, and my Dissertation

Hmm, yes that seems to be a bug in Sente. I would send an email to the support. You can add an element, and there is an element called "paragraph separator" but it doesn't seem to be working. Is this how you tried? Yes. That is what they told me to do. I when I pointed it that did not work, I was i...

Re: Live Bib, chapters, and my Dissertation

I'm a former Bookends user and know it well. Sente's bibliography format editor is probably the most powerful on the market. This issue is probably better on the Sente forum, but I'm happy to try and help if I can. It will not put a return into the bibliography. I want my bib to look like this: Aut...

Re: Live Bib, chapters, and my Dissertation

Is there a reason you are moving to Bookends rather than staying with Sente? They are both excellent Ref managers and both integrate with Mellel - both do live bibliography as well. I am just on the last draft of my dissertation and I also worked chapter by chapter, but that didn't stop me from jus...

rpcameron wrote:If you're writing in segments, perhaps your best option is something like Scrivener and RTF rather than Mellel ...
I am aware of that option and have not ruled it out. Scrivener does seem designed for that approach. I shall probably revisit that path as well.

Re: Live Bib, chapters, and my Dissertation

I don't know if live bibliography is really of particular significance in this case. The thing is that you will write each chapter as a separate document, and before submitting it you will scan the document to get the bibliography. When, towards the end of your work, you will be working on the whol...

rpcameron wrote:RTF will be your best bet. Word support is OS dependent, and different OS X versions support different features. However, Mellel's RTF support is not OS dependent, so that's always your best option.
Thank you for that. Your point addresses my concern and makes good sense. Much appreciated. Cheers!
