A multi-step free way to convert Mellel to Word accurately
Hi all, I have written my thesis in Mellel but my professor uses MS Word and wanted a copy of it in Word so he could edit using Words track changes. As noted in other places the Mellel -> Export -> Word function does not retain all the formatting. In my case the big problem was that the number of pa...

Loosing Figure numbers when converted to .doc Word format
Hi - I have checked the forums and the manuals and I am not seeing a solution to this. Sorry if I have missed something already covered. When I am converting a document from Mellel to .doc Word (or RTF) my figure numbers in my text are being replaced with a "?". The figure number that appe...

Re: Landscape and Portrait in the same Document
I thought I would add to this thread which has been silent for awhile. I also ran into this problem and find the hack of inserting the PDF interesting. The problem I am having then is that for this page with a different orientation I am not able to align a caption properly underly the landscape page...

Re: TOC inserting page break after some figures and sub-headings
Thank you!
Indeed the problem was I was using "keep together" as the formatting for my auto-title. I made the copy as you suggested and went to Insert -> Auto-Title -> Edit Title Flows and applied the new paragraph style to the TOC tab for the auto-title that was giving me problems.

TOC inserting page break after some figures and sub-headings
When I go to create my TOC the formating is coming out fine for my chapter headings but when it tries to format some of the sub headings and figures it is inserting a page break after each of these entries, so I end up with a TOC that is about 100 pages long. I checked the formatting on a figure tha...

Re: Figure and table captions
I did not think it was terse at all :D And even if it was I will take a terse reply to no reply any day! I did run into a bit of a problem with these captions again yesterday when I opened my file back up (i.e. some of the captions were not staying on the same page as their figure) so I will ...

Re: Where is the Problem?
I don't see the problem. I have legends for figures and tables that stay on the same page: 1. Figure legends: They normally come after the figure they go with. I have defined a paragraph style "figure", where in the "edit styles ..." dialog box I have entered under "Keep op...

Have choice to add auto incrementing version number to saves
When saving a document via the File menu it might be handy to have an option of "Save as new version" and have the title appended with a version number. It could have tow variable. Main versions i.e. TITLE Version 1.0 and minor revisions TITLE Version 1.0 Rev A Just a thought. For some of ...
