Re: Some OpenType fonts don't display different font faces
I see. I wonder if there are any other people reading this experiencing trouble with font explorer and Mellel A free demo of FontExplorer which works for 30 days can be downloaded from fontexplorerx.com, so you could easily check out whether this a common thing or whether I am the only one experien...

Re: Some OpenType fonts don't display different font faces
Does this happen only with these fonts or is this something particular to any font managed by font explorer? Also, does the "face" popup (Mellel's) has items for bold and italic? Do they show up in parenthesis? AFAICS it's really a problem of the interaction between Mellel and FontExplore...

Re: Some OpenType fonts don't display different font faces
No, I can't change the font face with Cmd+I et al. As I wrote, it's a problem of Mellel and Fontexplorer X and not of the fonts, since everything works if I quit Fontexplorer and have Font Book handle the fonts.

Re: Some OpenType fonts don't display different font faces
This problem still persists, and since Mellel seems to be the only application with this behavior, the problem is probably not on FontExplorer's side.

Re: Some OpenType fonts don't display different font faces
I have a strange problem with Mellel 3.4.b2: With some OpenType fonts, variations like bold or italics are simply not displayed. Examples are Garamond Premier Pro, Frutiger LT Pro and Stempel Garamond LT Pro. In all three instances I can select "bold" or "italics" and the displa...

Re: New implementation of Find
I agree that the new setup is confusing. I regularly press Cmd+F to start a search only to find out that I have closed the find panel which was already open. Maybe a different shortcut for closing the panel would be better.

I still see this problem with 3.2.2 and older files.

Re: Mellel 3.1
I don't think that it really makes sense to make the zoom factor a property of a document template. The zoom factor depends mainly on the screen size/computer you're working on. A document template on the other is computer-agnostic. I would plead to move this setting back to the general prefs.

Re: Mellel 3.1
AFAICS Mellel 3.1 lost the ability to define the standard zoom factor. When I open a new document, I always get "fit page" as zoom factor which is not what I want. Wasn't there a prefs setting for this? Please re-add this.

Re: and on to 3.1
Although I don't really need it, indexing is probably a given for the next version. Some things I (still) like to see: The ability to have multiple Auto-Titles on the same level of hierarchy. I often have the situation where a title type (for example a chapter) can be either numbered or unnumbered. ...

Spellchecking: German (Switzerland) not working
This is strange: When I choose "German (Switzerland)" as language, spell checking doesn't work. Neither "Edit -> Spelling -> Check Spelling" nor "Check Spelling as You Type". The first just gives me an error sound, if the latter is selected, nothing at all happens. If I...

Re: Syncing Mellel setup between Macs
Can you explain how you did this simifilm? A symlink is something like an alias, but not quite the same. It also refers to a location on your hard drive, but comes from the Unix side. The main difference between symlinks and aliases is that a symlink is completely transparent, meaning that the file...
