Re: The state of the Mellel (a road map of sorts)
I find it embarrassing that every single post about the future state of Mellel gets overwhelmed with feature requests. It would be such a perfect thing if Redlers could set up some tracker to take care of the feature requests so that (1) people know what’s been suggested before and we don’t have to ...

Re: Double-page view
Simple indeed. If You consider that such a crucial feature, You should have tried it before buying Mellel. It’s not like they are hiding it from people before they pay, is it?ravettb wrote:It's simple. If I can't do this, I want my money back. Period.

Re: Save as pdf dialog and footnote display
I have 10.5.2 (just checked) and the “.mellel” extension is still there. A mystery! :)donb wrote:As of Leopard 10.5.2, when you choose save as pdf from the print dialogue, the word "mellel" is no longer in the name before the pdf.

Re: Revisiting Sparkle
Adding Sparkle is really a trivial task [probably a day, even with the license expiration check] and the automatic update can be turned off by those who would prefer to update by hand. I prefer applications updating themselves – dragging a new version to the Applications folder is indeed an easy tas...

Re: Revisiting Sparkle
I think this can be handled easily. If Mellel knows how long the license lasts, it can disable the automatic updates when the license expires or display a warning. But discussing new features seems quite pointless right now…

Re: Spotlight for Leopard
Most of us are having no difficulties with Spotlight and Leopard. Have you tried the fix suggested earlier in this thread? Have you reported the problem to Redlers support? I do have difficulties, the thing does not work. I have installed the plugin, got the “failed” message, ran the mdimport thing...

Second that. QuickLook would be nice, but I can live without it. Spotlight is a must, especially for a word processor.

Re: Feature request: change .mellel to something shorter
According to the alphabetic list of file extensions at Wikipedia , the .mel is still available. If I remember correctly, the shorter .mel extension was used by the previous document format. Which probably means that current versions of Mellel use the shorter extension to recognise the old documents...

Re: And Now A Word From Our Sponsors......(please!)
C. We've had a bit of a problem during the last couple of months but it had to do not with anything as romantic an thrilling as a developers hell but, rather, some mundane personal problems. D. We got over those... Glad to hear that — not because of Mellel, of course, for there are much more import...

Re: Keyboard Shortcuts
So I will have a look at the other solutions. You can simply download the Interface Builder (comes as a part of the Apple development kit), open the MainMenu.nib from the Mellel package (Contents/Resources/<Language>.lproj/MainMenu.nib) and set the shortcuts there. It’s free and it earns You some h...

I am working on a pretty long table (60 pages, each about 20 rows) right now and so far Mellel is stable. But adding a new row to this table is getting slow and when I press Tab on the last cell to insert a new row, Mellel’s CPU usage temporarily jumps up to somewhere between 70–100 percent on my Ma...

Re: Developers' Feedback on the forum
Sure, we understand that the problems encountered in the two most desired fields of innovation for Mellel, i. e. Xrefs and indexing, may be gigantic and may take up all the time of the developers. I think that the problems are not related to programming, at least not directly. Even Ori said that so...

I set up my lists so that level one has a symbol, level 2 has no symbol, level 3 has another symbol, level 4 has no symbol and so on. This means at each indentation you have the choice of text marked with a symbol or text that is not marked but is still part of the list. That’s it, thank You. Just ...
