b. The mellel container looks to the system as a mellel file (because it has the extension .mellel which is the same is the mellel file extension and you therefor cannot just go inside at as a regular folder, instead, you need to right click it and then choose "Show Package Contents" This ...

Re: Application Support/Mellel folder disappeared-Del. templates

Thank you for the suggestion. There is indeed a file in the container folder called "com.redlex.mellel". However, it is just a small file, no folder with format styles or, in this case, templates. Removing it and restarting Mellel does not bring the lost folder back into the -/library/Appl...

Application Support/Mellel folder disappeared-Del. templates

Dear all, using Mac OS 10.8.2 and working with Mellel 3.0.2 (MAS), I can't find my Mellel folder under user/library/application support/Mellel any more. Precisely the moment since I bought a second version in the Mac App Store there is NO "~/Library/Application Support/Mellel/" showing up ...

Spell checking problems

Dear all, recently I had some troubles with spell checking and I am looking for help. 1. When I want to check spell for the whole document (ca. 110 pages), I get a notice that the spelling service is not responding. A system bug, since Mellel's spell service seems to rely on that of Apple or a prope...

Re: Save as pdf dialog and footnote display

Thank you for the comments. When I wrote about a lower priority about text flow around graphics / tables / images, I was writing about my own experience that is naturally limited. When preparing a book for publication, text flow is done by the editor, while cross-referencing and indexing is not or, ...

Save as pdf dialog and footnote display

Well, take it as a sign of impatience in view of repeatedly promised new Mellel features: here come two minor suggestions for features from an otherwise pretty content Mellel-user. My daily work with Mellel would be eased if 1. a document saved as an pdf would not include the extension 'mellel' as p...

Timotheus, thank you for your hint. You seem to have experience with that. A journal in which I pretend to publish requires "preferentially Word or Word Perfect [!]". Another journal wants a text "saved as an MSWord-readable document file". Does this include .rtf? Thanks in advan...

Thank you for your quick replies. As I can see from your comments, it is all rather my fault. I wrote a text in Portuguese with ´, `, ~, ç and ü. The font is 'Times New Roman'. Then I exported it to '.doc' and opened it on an old Windows 98 system running Word 97. There the above-mentioned problems ...

Exporting diacritics

Dear all, as Mellel users, we unfortunately still are surrounded by MS Word. As we know, the best way to export Mellel files is to export in '.rtf' file format and then change the extension to '.doc'. This seems to work quite smoothly in English. Things are getting much more complicated, however, wr...
