Re: Spotlight for Leopard

I'm told by the developers that Spotlight-for-Leopard is coming in 2.5 "real soon". Hopefully that means "in the next few days", but that might be wishful thinking. It's been a long and trying wait. But from past experience with the Redlers, if they don't whiz a fix out the door ...

Re: And Now A Word From Our Sponsors......(please!)

Thanks for the update, Ori. Good to hear that Redlex is still with us.

Re: Spotlight and Quick Look

The lack of comment from the Redlers is puzzling. I can only hope they are waiting to trot out the all-singing, all-dancing Mellel 3.0 at MacWorld. If not, then some comment would be handy. It's a daily - almost hourly - frustration that I can't search past Mellel articles with Spotlight.

Re: Spotlight and Quick Look

I don't think you need to worry about Redlex dropping the ball. What it delivers, when it delivers, will be innovative and rock-solid. I'm as keen as anyone for Spotlight back - I've lost a big reference source without it - but I Have Faith. And some patience in the belief that what's being done, is...

Let's get some context here. Redlex is three people. Mellel is four years old. Every release has added something significant, often in an entirely new way, without compromising Mellel's rock-solid stability. It still doesn't have things I'd like, either - but I only have to flick back to Word to kno...

Thanks, joewiz, for your lucid help here. I did find a few feral diamonds lurking in my Style setup, but getting rid of them didn't change anything back at the template. I'll keep hunting, but I've got a feeling I'm going to have to start over.

Those styles again

I've been using Mellel practically daily since 2003, but only in the most basic sense, as a journalist punching out short articles. There are a few Mellel niceties hardwired into my thinking, which makes me baulk at using another word processor. But after all this time, I occasionally step away from...

Looking forward to it, Guy. And will we have the standard OS X toolbar toggle in the top right-hand corner?

I wouldn't mourn the loss of the numeral on the icon - I can only imagine it was a rush job that inspired it - or even an icon makeover, but I'm extremely happy with the minimalist interface. Tweak the icon by all means, but leave the interface as-is!

It's very heartening to see this discussion. I'd bet a small amount of money that I was the first user to publish a book written entirely in Mellel, and I retain a great fondness for it. But later releases simply became too complex for me to use. My needs are pretty simple (and perhaps I'm a little...

I had this problem with .rtfd files a couple of years ago. I found the answer to my problem somewhere on the web and tucked it away in a Devonthink database. I'm guessing that the same fix will apply to your issue. (Have you been fiddling with system settings somewhere? I'm pretty sure I was when th...
