can't update
I am not able to update Mellel; the installer just stalls and doesn't do anything. My last update was similar, so the version shows Mellel 4.app.1.1.1.

Open with previous files
Sorry for the amateur question, but is it possible to open Mellel with the previous files? Mine opens with a blank page, and I can't tell how to or if I can make it open with the files that were opened when I last quit. Thank you.

I think that took care of the problem. Thanks very much.

Re: Find and Replace question
For some reason, these suggestions don't work; the footnoted turn out to either be center aligned, or too distant from the note number. I wonder if there is a way to customize the look, so that one could customize as #[space]note text?

Find and Replace question
I have a fairly long manuscript in which I must edit all the footnotes. In the footnote, the superscript number is followed immediately by the citation. I have to insert a space between the superscript number and the text that follows. My question is - is there a "Find and Replace" way to ...

Re: Page numbers, leading periods in TOC?
One problem as I attempt to do this - the "Lead:" under Margins and Tabs is not live, so can't be selected.

Page numbers, leading periods in TOC?
Could someone point me to a place that explains how to do page numbers, right aligned (with Titles left aligned) and leading periods between Titles and page numbers, in a TOC? I've checked the Tutorial for Beginners and searched the forum. Thank you.

Weird graphics behavior
I went in to edit my Table of Contents settings, and the picture below shows that the bar that gives various selections is completely black. Any ideas why?

Re: EndNote & Mellel
I agree with the above. I too switched from Word/Endnote to Mellel/Bookends and have never regretted. The import to Bookends was easy and the integration is unlike anything you'll have in Word. You can insert citations with Cmd + y, and you can scan/unscan in the same document multiple times. It's a...

Re: Track Changes, what will you do?
I use it, at most, once or twice a year and would rather see other priorities than this implemented. It's just not an essential component for me.

keyboard shortcut for "Open Recent"
Anyone know of a quick, keyboard way to get "Open Recent" in Mellel? I've tried the System Prefs. -> Keyboard and that doesn't work. It's my most repetitive daily task in Mellel and I'd like to be able to hit a keystroke, get the list, and arrow down to the file I need. I'd also like to sa...

For what it's worth, Nisus Writer Pro seemed to open the file with fonts intact. Thanks for the advice.

help exporting SPIonic font to .rtf
When I export my mellel doc. to .rtf, and open in MS Word, the SPIonic (Greek) font is Times New Roman. Anyone know how to preserve the SPIonic font in export?
