Adding Mellel to the Homebrew package manager

Congratulations on the release of Mellel 4! I'm a long-time user and was happy to upgrade as soon as I saw the new version was out. I've been using it to update my CV from 10 years ago, and can see the interface and features have advanced, but the app still feels solid and snappy. Is anyone on the M...

FYI, Redlers, this isn't a question about Mellel - it's pure spam.

Re: multiple Find and Replace

Not so easy, I think. How would you avoid finding and replacing characters that were not part of the text, but part of some XML tag, a style name or something like that? Wouldn't you have to write a script that could parse XML? (I may just be revealing my ignorance here, I know...) Better than writ...

Re: explain Mellel to me

These responses are all very helpful. I think what I need is the "Dull/Fancy" combo; I'm guessing those aren't transferable, so I'll need some initial help figuring out how to begin to "build" such things. Thank you. They actually are transferable - perhaps mbywater would e-mail...

Re: Mellel documents not opening... with Tiger on iBook!

I actually had this same problem - but with Leopard on iBook. Mellel would open, but I couldn't create new documents or open saved documents. I fixed it by trashing all Mellel-related preference files and application support files -- those mentioned in this thread. Strange!

It would be good to be able to select an autotitle or a range of autotitles in the outline pane and choose to see only them.
yeah that's another thing that came to my mind too yesterday...

Okay I really REALLY don't get this. You start working on the tables function in Mellel, but STILL the ability to navigate them is not updated.... if you have, say, 10 rows and 20 columns how are you going to get from row to row without having to move the mouse alllll the time? I'm not sure if this...

Re: Inserting page numbers at different places in same docum

In my dissertation, I needed to have each chapter start with the pagination in the footer for the rest of the chapter, it was supposed to be in the header. I had to break up the dissertation into chapters, saving them as separate documents, which precluded me from easily working with the entire tex...

The current behavior sounds like a bug to me!

FWIW, I even switched to Mellel in the middle of my dissertation. Me too. Me three! In fact, I started and just finished my dissertation in Mellel, and used Chinese and Japanese extensively; I love how Mellel lets me define one font for Roman text (I used Warnock Pro 12 pt), and one for CJK (I used...

They added more word processing features now, like change tracking, instead of mainly just having page layout functions. Pages can't do nearly everything that Mellel does, but I think Mellel better keep on its toes. Regarding change tracking, the first question I had was 'is it compatible with Word...

Now that I read this, you're right - "Compact view" + "Fit width" does the trick.

This would be very nice - shall we call it 'Margin width'?
