Re: The Holiday announcement

I have a similar question: I just updated to the latest build (v3.5.2b2), but I do not see and upgrade option. Does that mean we just wait for 4.0 to come out? Thank you. In some of the version of the announcement, it reminds you that if you "upgrade" now, 4.0 will be free. Question: how d...

Re: Feature request: hyperlinks to external files

I did some research and found that after exporting a PDF from Mellel, I can open the PDF in Preview and add the links in Preview. I guess that's why it has not been incorporated into Mellel, because OSX has a built in work-around. From Preview's help file: Adding a link to a PDF document You can add...

Re: Feature request: hyperlinks to external files

I also would like to publish a PDF from Mellel and have an active URL to my website (or other internet links). I do not want Mellel to automatically convert a URL to an active link, but I would like the ability to manually insert the link. Thanks!

Mellel on App Store!

I was glad to see that Mellel is now on the App Store. But I was sorely disappointed when I tried to write a review. The App Store tells me, "To review/rate this app, you must have purchased it from the Mac App Store. Boy, I'd hate to see all the reviews posted only by newbies trying to figure h...

Re: 2.8 is great, but . . . . 2.9 wish list

Are there any plans for rounded corners on tables or sections (border or background color)? This would make Mellel much more useful in producing attractive layout-style pages, such as for magazines and flyers.

Maybe there is already a way and I haven't found it?

Sounds great! Thank you Redlers, for the great news. I look forward to seeing Mellel in the App Store. I trust it will get a lot more exposure, especially from the student population.

Re: The state of the Mellel (a road map of sorts)

- automatically switching language speller when switching keyboard layout ; a very useful feature for multilingual texts, e.g. if I use Romanian keylayout (including my custom one), it is logical to assume that the speller is also for Romanian; if I switch the language to Czech, speller should swit...

Re: Auto-Registration!

So, for programs that use a *proper* installation procedure (drag app file to the app folder), the plist files are preserved. But they will most likely be overwritten by applications that use an installation package. So, I will copy my plist files for those apps and the copy them back after the inst...

Re: Auto-Registration!

I don't see how the preferences could have been moved. NOTHING was able to be retrieved from the old HD. I installed Mellel on a new HD with nothing but the OS X 10.6.0 that the Apple service (in Mexico) installed. They did not even put iLife on the HD, saying I had to do that myself. I do sync Pref...

Auto-Registration!

How did Mellel do that? My hard drive crashed while on a trip to Mexico. Apple service in Mexico changed the HD for a new one. They said my old HD was completely unreadable. Good service under original warranty. So I'm reinstalling all my downloadable software on a clean OS install on a new HD. I in...

Re: Different Language in one document

redlers wrote:To be able to do that Mellel needs to know how to mark a certain piece of text as "belonging" to a given language (e.g., as a style variation) but it is not that smart yet. It will be, though.
This is GREAT news! Thank you.

Re: F-Key Problems (Style Variations)

rpcameron, I'm using one ofe the older full size keyboard (that does not even have a "fn" key. But that is great information for when I might need a new keyboard! Thanks. As I mentioned earlier, the problem was solved with a clean install. It must have been some program that had hijacked t...

Re: F-Key Problems (Style Variations)

My computer was desperately in need of more storage space, so when I upgraded the hard drive and did a clean install of the OS, my F-Key problems disappeared and F1 through F8 are functional again. I never figured out what was interfering with them.

Mellel ignores trailing blanks (spaces) in centered text

Mellel ignores trailing blanks (spaces) when centering text. I find this behavior extremely annoying and counter productive! When typing centered text, there is no way to whether the last word has a space after it, or needs a space after it, until I begin typing the next word. Since I think as I typ...

Re: F-Key Problems (Style Variations)

Thanks for the note on Service Scrubber, but it did not reveal any Service using my F-Keys. Any more ideas?
