Hi
I have used the menu option "Convert text to citation" objects, which is very useful.
Is there a way to convert back i.e. to change blue citation objects back to plain text?
regards,
John

Re: Citation Format Overrides
I have the same problem. In-text citations after a bibliography scan end up in a different style/font from the rest of the paragraph.
How can it be set so that the citation (the bit in brackets with author page etc) stays in same style as paragraph.

Comparing 2 Mellel files
I have to compare differences between versions of a Mellel document. I got Araxis Merge which visually compares Word files nicely. Mellel has Export option for Word format, but when your outputs are compared by Araxis it chokes on the exported files saying: Invalid header signature. read <number> ex...

losing paragraph styles
I found the paragraphs in my document had lost their style setting. They looked the same but style was now in the diamonds list underneath. I went through re-adding appropriate style to each paragraph. Soon after it lost them again. I do have two style-sets but they styles have same names and anyway...

selecting many footnotes
How do I select many footnotes at once? For example, I have a style for footnotes relating to text that my supervisor has already seen, grey and small so he knows not to read it again (and similarly for parts of body text) and another style for new footnotes, to be read. So there will be a bunch of ...

Style sets frustration
In principle I am keen on Style sets but in practice they cause me lots of trouble. For example, at the moment in "Edit Style Sets" I can see my styles: Default, Screen, Draft Print, Final Print, and Screen variant. But the drop-down Style Set menu only offers 3 out of 5. Why does one part...

Edit Citation
The dialog box "Edit Citation" in "Citation:" has a tiny font for me, e.g. hard to see when inserting @page-number. Is there a way to increase the size of text in there?

Re: Citation object generate Footnote
Thanks, that is helpful advice. Prompted by your point about easy viewing, I think that even if I decide to go with footnotes (which is the more common method in Humanities) it would be good while writing to see the reference inline. I will have a look at at Scrivener.

Re: Citation object generate Footnote
Thanks for your comments. Seem difficult to stay neutral re: two ways of doing citations. > you want to be able to see them without scrolling to the bottom of the page? Yes that would be nice, but the main reasons are: 1. delaying decision whether in-line or footnote citations will be better for the...

Re: Citation object generate Footnote
At present the only way I can see of coping with this is to manually copy each footnote's temporary citation into the body text (and delete footnote) or vice-versa if moving from in-text citation version to footnotes version.
Is there a simpler way to do this?

John

Citation object generate Footnote
For footnotes, currently I am inserting a footnote in Mellel and then Bookends Cmd-Y to copy citation. It works, but I would prefer to put citation inline in text and only after Scan would it create footnotes. It would be nice if temporary citations did not have to pre-judge whether the final output...
