Mellel 2.6.2 and Snow Leopard – Style Sets and Templates pro
I found that I still had to move my Style Sets and Templates folders out of the App Support/Mellel folder in order for Mellel 2.6.2 to launch successfully. I had already tried throwing away the prefs and removing bad fonts via Font Book. No biggie, just thought I would report it. I assume I can use ...

Re: cross reference "below"
I may not have been choosing, in the "Reference Formats", select Page# Conditional. I may have been changing the reference format (double-clicking the format) without having Page# Conditional already chosen. I will explore. Thanks.

find-count
I take it there's not a way to run the Find command and have it do a specific count for you? So, you could search to see how many occurrences there are of a certain word, phrase, etc.
Thanks

Re: cross reference "below"
I still can't get the below functionality to work. If I create a new CR on p. 28, connect it to a bookmark that is below it on p. 92 (any of the bookmarks below it, it doesn't matter), and enter "see below, #" in the the conditional page number format, it will only insert the # (that is, 9...

cross reference "below"
I love the cross reference capability. Mellel does it right, simple but capable of great complexity. That said, I'm having trouble with the "Conditional Page Number Format" option. I've got the boxes checked for Above and Below, but it refuses to recognize the bookmark that is placed below...

Re: Please help with citations & bibliography
I too have purpled citations. What does this mean? I see others report them, but I haven't seen an analysis.
Thanks. Love this rock-solid product!

Re: Em dash and ellipsis
Just a quick addendum: the ellipsis on a US keyboard with Leopard is alt+: (alt and the colon button), producing "…" but without the quote marks (obviously). Thanks for the post, though; I had no idea that a keyboard shortcut existed for the ellipsis till seeing this and experimenting! You...

Re: Learner's Question about footnotes and bib. formatting
The good person (Jon) at BE solved it--I was using Geneva as the default fault in BE, which doesn't have a genuine italic face. BE fakes an italic, but Mellel does not, so there really was a loss in translation. Kudos to the genius of Jon at Sonny Software!

Re: Learner's Question about footnotes and bib. formatting
Yes, my screen looks essentially the same. I have, in addition, tried creating an italics-only character style in Mellel--italics being the base--to replace the italic setting from BE, but no luck there either.

Still no fix for lost italics in the Biblio.
I have now bought the combo Bookends (BE) and Mellel, but still cannot get Mellel's bibliography to properly italicize titles, journals, etc. BE is set to Mellel and vice-versa. I have tried the replacing options in Mellel's preferences, but no luck. I have tried unformatting and using a different o...

Re: Learner's Question about footnotes and bib. formatting
Yes, Mellel is set as my word processor in Bookends. Yes, I've tried, in Mellel Biblio preferences, getting an italicized font to replace to the italics from BE. I did find that if I convert the plain text to italics that that was successful. It wouldn't be related to have trial versions of the soft...

Re: Learner's Question about footnotes and bib. formatting
I too have a newbie question. I'm fiddling with the latest Bookends and latest Mellel, and tried an RTF file I had with footnotes with EndNote. I managed to port everything over and get the footnotes rocking, but I can't get the Bibliography to format correctly. It always comes up plain text, withou...
