Feature request: Antidote integration

I recently asked guys from Antidote, a powerful Canadian tool for French writers, integrated with Word, why they couldn't do it for Mellel. This is what they said: "a few years ago, we've contacted Redlex to tell them how to create the API necessary for integration. Redlex has unfortunately not...

Re: Line under title

Well, I do not particularly want to defend my ridiculous solution, but I have now changed https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/28290570/line_under_title.mellel as you want it, with a line above as well. Just copy and paste the first line you made. I agree that there should be a simpler way of doing ...

Feature request : lines above and below titles

Hi,

would be great to add a simple feature to add lines above and below titles, across the whole page. Including in header / footer.

Just like in Pages.

Thanks !!

Re: Line under title

Thank you. That's what I thought, there is no simple way to do it. The table solution is really ridiculous for a software this powerful. The underscore characters solution is simpler, but if I want to have a header with an element and a certain space under it, this becomes a drag too. And if I...

Line under title

Hi,

I would like to insert a line under a title that goes not just under the title itself, but across the page. In Pages or Word, this is very simple. In Mellel it seems difficult. Thanks.

Re: French typography : automatic no-break before ? ; : !

This topic is six years old, but 3.2 is not there yet... Please do something about automatic non-break spaces for French, your program is great! EDIT - As for now, the only way to auto insert narrow non-break space is the Find / Replace function (copy/paste your sign with its nb space...

Re: Wishlist for version 2.6

Forgive me my ignorance, but what's the problem with Alt+Shift-Space? So it's a shortcut to learn, yeah, but how would you implement this without a new shortcut? You certainly don't want that the Space key always gives you a non-break space, so the obvious way is to use a variation of the Space key...

Re: Mellel vs. Pages...who wins?

But with all that manpower Microsoft for two decades has not ever released a proper, reliable word processor. (I haven't tried the 2008 version, but almost everyone is complaining about it and I doubt just out of a reflex of being a MS hater – if so, why at all did they buy it?) Not to mention that...

Re: Wishlist for version 2.6

For French users : Integration of non-breaking spaces. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Non-breaking_space This is even more important than indexing. Even if it seems--after my experience in another thread--that you don't like that I show you solutions for your problems it might be helpful for other Fr...

Re: Mellel vs. Pages...who wins?

I will not participate in this futile discussion but why you are not simply solve your "French academic problems" by your own? It is simple to set up all the shortcuts you like to have with Spark (freeware), Keyboard Maestro (shareware) or iKey (shareware, but buggy on OS X.5). Just assig...

Re: Mellel vs. Pages...who wins?

I don't use Pages for my own academic writing because it lacks outlining, highlighter, and bibliographic management. But I find that pressing Command-I for italics (and not losing the format if I change styles) is so liberating that I may switch :) You got it nailed. Mellel is a great software-to-b...

I didn't notice it. But you still have Word 2008, Antidote was made compatible recently. I stick with Word as for now.

Re: Mellel vs. Pages...who wins?

I know someone who did its dissertation with Pages : so obvisously, it's possible. But if you want the best program for the job, your only choice is either Mellel or Word.. For everything above 100 pages, Word is no option, at least if you care about your mental health. I dutifully respect the Mell...

I know someone who did its dissertation with Pages : so obvisously, it's possible. But if you want the best program for the job, your only choice is either Mellel or Word. Problem is with Mellel, you can't do a name index as for now. Word can. It's the only major deal breaker to me. Also, there's no...
