The latest release of Mellel now includes the number of words in notes. I suspect the increase represents the word count of the footnotes.
It is useful to see the word count for notes. Perhaps, however, this should not be included in the total (under general).

Find next (specific) marker
Hi, I would like to suggest an enhancement to the marker feature. Since there are different colours and since one can rename the markers, I use various colours for different tasks (one for cross-references, one for things to double-check, etc.). It would be useful if one could find the next marker i...

Hi Matthias, On keeping the author’s name as one unit, please see page 17 of the BE manual: “If the author is an institution, place a comma after the last character and Bookends will not attempt to format it when creating a bibliography.” This is what Jon recommended for using CJK names in Bookends....

Clearly, I was mistaken. I was able to handle complex dates by creating a new format for the citation. I still have the following problem (also posted at BE): Authors’ names in Japanese, for instance, do not work with the “date only” %. In order to keep Japanese (and Chinese) word order and to inclu...

Bibliography feature questions
I seem to be experiencing trouble with the bibliography feature in Mellel (linked to Bookends). My trouble, I think, is what I perceive as a lack of control over how citations appear. I suspect many of the following are actually possible and would appreciate any tips on how to accomplish them. In th...

Citations in notes (bug?)
Usually, when in notes (foot- or end-), by clicking on the note number one returns to the main body of the text. If, however, the first thing in the note is a citation (using the bibliography feature), as far as I can tell, no amount of clicking on the note number will take you back to the text. Is ...

Auto-titles & numbering
When using numbering in Auto-titles, is there any way to make numbers (Curr#) not restart at each new section? I have a very long text into which I have placed chapter titles with tagged flows. Ideally, they should run from 1-30. As it is they run from 1-11, and then restart at 1, where a new struct...

Don, I also noticed that placing the logo, etc., in the header in fact does not solve my initial problem. The top page margin is exactly the same for both pages (i.e., with and without logo, etc.). The logo, etc., for a letterhead can appear quite high on a page, at a height at which it would look o...
