Re: From Latex to Mellel: need some help

Which reminds me how nice it would be if the promised exporter from Mellel to docx would finally appear. I need it almost every day.

Re: Exporting TOC to PDF

The TOC must be created in Mellel 4 in order to work in pdf. Could that be the explanation in your case?

Re: character style that preserves subscripts/superscripts

This is a serious problem. I have found that the best way to solve it is to use, not the position, but to use the specified subscript/superscript figures. You find them in the unicode section Digits - all. When you write yourself, it is easy (you can put these digits in your favourites), but it can ...

crossreferences

I have come across a curious problem which I do not understand: I want to refer back to a footnote 7 in my manuscript, so I put a bookmark there, and in note 57 I insert a crossreference back to this note. In the little window, I can see that it is well understood which note I want, but when I inser...

Re: How to make indentation in footnotes consistent?

The only thing I can think of is, that you are nevertheless using two different note-styles. Not paragraph-style in the note, but note-attribute. Go to "insert>note>edit note attributes" and then look at "note symbol - format". The solution must be there.

Re: Page smaller than it should when printed

Janet is right, of course. I know the problem well, but it can be difficult to get rid of. Try View (at the very top of the window) and see if Annotation Pane is engaged. If it is, turn it off and your problem disappears. If, at any time, you write a comment, the View Annotation Pane will be turned ...

Re: New User Looking for Simple Template

May I suggest the excellent tutorials furnished by Mellel? At the top of the page you are looking at there is an entrance called 'learn'. That would be a good place to start.
Good luck

Export to docx

The joys of using Mellel have always included the problem that nobody else does. For many years the solution has been to import and export via RTF and it has worked well, if the text was not too complicated from a lay-out point of view. The introduction of docx did not make our lives easier, but rec...

Re: High Sierra "not optimised" warning

I got that warning as well, and it concerned the Installer-program, not Mellel itself. It was a warning that the Installer was not 64-bit and would not run on later versions of Mac OS. After the warning, the installer installed and all was fine. So unless it is a hoax you need to update your install...

footnotes from doc in 4.1.1

I have just installed the update 4.1.1 and then imported a file in .doc. All footnotes were lost as notes and appeared after the text without links. Note references in the text were lost. Did something go wrong in the update? The imported file was difficult and a little strange. I do not have any ot...

Re: synchronizing styles?

Thank you, Icelander. This is what I did last time, I believe, and what you would intuitively try to do. The problem is that I do not find any of this in the Library to which I have access. There is no Library visible in my home folder and I have forgotten the special trick to make it appear. Perhap...

synchronizing styles?

How do I transfer the style-sets from one computer to another? I think I have done it once, but cannot remember how.
Thanks in advance for help

Importing to Mellel. docx etc.

There is a problem that has been souring my life with Mellel for many years. I had hoped that the new direct import of docx would solve it, but no. The problem is the import of small caps and suprascript numbers. Small caps are rendered as normal letters and suprascript numbers as ordinary figures r...

Re: Export Outline to PDF

The subject has already been discussed, and as far as I remember the answer is no, but if you make a ToC it will be active in your pdf provided you have written your document in Mellel 4, not earlier.
