Re: Invisible bibliography details in palette
I have a similar problem which is persistent and easily replicable. I often place citation with "^" caret to bring the author name out of the brackets. No problems in the document, but when I scan it, the citation gains a line return after the caret. So, if I bring the Edit citation panel,...

Tables: non-breaking? Space above/below?
More dumb questions (thesis deadline is very close!)
Is it possible yet to stop a table breaking over pages, or do I have to add page breaks manually?
Also, how can I control the Space before/ Space after? The controls only seem to affect text inside the table.

Re: Editing a citation, after doc is scanned
one more thing :) Is there a way to distinguish unverified citations (which have a "?" in their edit dialog) from the others? A different colour perhaps? I cant find a way. Surely, opening the dialog for all the citations can't be the way this information is meant to be used (can it?). Tha...

Re: Editing a citation, after doc is scanned
Thanks Dylan, I see how it works now. Problem was that selected citations, once I'm 'in' it are not visibly any different. Clicking outside does the trick.

Re: Editing a citation, after doc is scanned
Dylan you understand exactly. That's the dialog I was trying to get. I thought I was going crazy. That's what I always did, but now double-clicking just highlights the author's name. That is what want to achieve, and... hold on! I just tried again to check, and it is working. Although sometimes it s...

Editing a citation, after doc is scanned
Hi, I want to make minor tweaks in some of my citations, like add @page no or \text comment\, which are already formatted (ie after scanning the doc). I have 200 references in it, and I dont want to unscan-rescan every time. How do I get to the raw code? I'm sure I used to be able to click on the ci...

Re: Newbie help needed with Auto-Titles
Hi everyone, I'm also having trouble including dynamic text in my header and footer. There are two problems: I want to have Document Title on the left, and Auto title Level 1 (the chapter title) in each header, eg: | Everything you ever wanted to know––––––––––––<right tab>––––––––––––––––Chapter 1:...

Applying Character format to a reference - bug?
I have several references to chapter titles placed in body text a bit like this: Chapter 1: What's the point? describes the background to the research project. Chapter 2: How I did it describes the methods used. Chapter 3: What I found out describes the findings of the study. So the bits in bold abo...

Re: Page break in auto-titles
Is there still no easy way to have a paragraph style or Auto-title start on a new page? I want all my level 1 Auto-titles (which are also all my Heading style paragraphs) to start a new page. I must be missing a trick, because this is surely standard stuff?

Auto-title & references
In the process of adding a reference to an Auto title, for me a major bottleneck is finding the target in the Edit Reference panel. I have a LOT of Auto titles in my document. It would be great to pick the target from the Outline sidebar instead, as this is where I can see the real structure of the ...

Request: Auto-title palette indicates level of selected text
Could the Auto title palette be consistent with the Styles palettes? It would be helpful to select in an auto title and see its level highlighted in the palette.

Re: Searching / navigating this forum
Anyone have any tips, or want to second my post? I have read several frustrated comments about being unable to use 'common' words (like reference, table, cross, title) in the Search. Surely this can be fixed?

Re: Paragraph and character style separation
An old thread I know, but can anyone help me with this problem? I have a paragraph style applied in many places in a document, which I want to also be 1pt smaller text. I have now attached the Para style to a character style accordingly, but it seems I have to reapply the para style to affect the ch...

Searching / navigating this forum
First, let me say this forum is an amazing wealth of advice. I've just started using Mellel and the peer support here is like no other. The trouble is, I can't really find anything without trawling the titles page by page. I haven't managed a successful search yet, I'm always told the words are too ...
