Re: 3.0 Wish List

Backtracking a bit: are there any substantiated reasons to believe that a version 3.0 will ever exist?

Yes, I am surely in the right folder yet Mellel fails to back up. Most backup file is dated on Sep 29 and I have used Mellel on several occasions ever since.

Re: No backup files in Application Support/Mellel/Backup

I can confirm the same issue on my system (Mellel 2.9.1 running on Mac OS X 10.7.2). None of the steps suggested by the Redlers yielded results.

How is that? I'm failing to find the option. Thanks.

Re: Making the switch… Any advice?

I am generally accustomed to being on the 'polite' side, as I am accustomed to debate on technical (or scholarly, in other cases) grounds. I have also learned to discern the not-so-subtle boundary between the two. Since when is technical debate—or the expression of product preferences—impolite? This...

Re: Making the switch… Any advice?

Thanks, Don, for the close technical analysis. Auto-titles are indeed a major advantage of Mellel. Would you perhaps be able to compare the two products in terms of stability and speed? I have not as yet written any documents longer than 100 pages using Mellel, but will be producing a 300+ page work...

Re: Making the switch… Any advice?

"More appropriate venue for questions" of what type exactly? There is nothing unreasonable in addressing my question to this forum, which brings together numerous users of both Mellel and Nissus. Choose any software product, and you will find numerous posts entertaining comparisons with competing pr...

Making the switch… Any advice?

Hi everyone, After extensive deliberation, I decided to give Nissus Writer Pro a serious try as a substitute to Mellel. The Mellel development cycle—and overall climate— unfortunately does not inspire much confidence, and the summer is ideal for such "housekeeping" duties. I wonder if any users on t...

Re: XSD or DTD?

Like you, rpcameron, and like several other users on this forum, I am exasperated by the developers' apparent lack of interest in their own product. I wonder how long it will be until the online "press" (blogs, review sites, etc.) begin to notice.

Thanks!

Contrary to the motto below my forum handle, I have indeed read the guide but do NOT know everything. :)

Removing all notes from a document

Hi,

Is there a better way to remove all notes from a document than just manually deleting them one by one?

Thanks.

Re: In case of emergency…

Like many fellow Mellel users, surely, I am very pleased to see that these issues have been brought up, and even more so for the developers' admission that there are some serious problems to be addressed in terms of customer relations and product roadmap. Many of us rely on Mellel to do our life's w...

Re: Thread answer e-mail notification does not work

Perhaps this glitch justifies the deafening silence of the developers themselves.
