What is actually needed is not babysitting dialog boxes (trust me, you would not like that if they actually did it, and I am confident they won't), but proper version control. We've been discussing this over in the Nitty and the Gritty, and if done right, this could be a strong feature, which could ...

That was fascinating, guys. I had, just like everyone else, only used subversion on web projects, etc. and not as a versioned backup repository for mellel docs. I always imagined the amount of granularity was customizable; it is interesting that it is not. If we could get a versioning feature in Mel...

What if, while we're talking about the Undo buffer, said buffer were accessible by a pallette similar to Photoshop's history palette? So you could undo edits you had made in the past without undoing all subsequent changes. That is to say, a full-fledged versioning implementation, probably in conjunc...

I wonder (I haven't tried) how Mellel's XML file type would respond to use with a versioning system like Subversion or CVS. Because that could be really great. Edit: I just posted the following in the Undo buffer thread, because I think the two features should be envisioned together. I would call it...

Perhaps, some of these problems could be simplified by using a utility such as Quicksilver to bind a keystroke to a Trigger to paste the required character. (This could be a really good feature for Mellel to do on its own, don't you think? The ability to paste little preprogrammed snippets of text o...

Speaking of upgrading...
I just paid my $19 or whatever to upgrade (having been using Mellel since 2004, I guess), and I was interested to know how much Mellel I just bought.
Do I get another three years for $19?

This is a Good Thing. Obviously Word is the one screwed here, as Google Docs doesn't do anything well, either (yet). They are natural competitors. Just a moment ago, I used the Mellel XSLT Translator to make an HTML file of a Mellel doc and emailed it to my Google Docs account for archiving purposes...

Are there any lines of text between the note in the text and the note separator? Because it matters where the note is. If the note reference is in the last few lines of the page, the note may need to flow in order to keep the reference and the beginning of the note on the same page. Your paragraph s...

Bump to say that scriptability is important to me. Here's what I want to be able to do: I want to hit a keystroke and have Quicksilver trigger an Applescript/Automator action that finds all of my recently-edited Mellel files using spotlight and has Mellel save them as .rtf (it will take a second) an...

Now, granted, I am young enough that I have been using Macintoshes since 1988, when I was six, and keyboard shortcuts are consequently second nature, but I like the f-key situation. The idea of having a different key combination for every type attribute rather than style seems really counter-intuiti...
