Re: Why is iCloud support MAS only?

Unfortunately, Apple doesn't provide us with a way to give special discounts to specific people or groups but we do occasionally discount Mellel in the app store so you might want to watch for this, the discount can be quite significant. Oh good, another reason to obsessively monitor the App Store…...

Re: Automatic Language switching

You can indicate non-default languages by highlighting the relevant text and selecting the corresponding language in the character palette in the drop-down menu labeled "Language" beneath the styles.

Long document variable does not respect document borders

Let's say I have a document in which I've defined a document variable as "supercalifragilisticexpialidocious supercalifragilisticexpialidocious supercalifragilisticexpialidocious supercalifragilisticexpialidocious supercalifragilisticexpialidocious supercalifragilisticexpialidocious". When I print t...

Re: prevent hyphenation in single location?

Very very good. Thank you, mpkuti!

(The actual English translation is "Zero width No-break space").

prevent hyphenation in single location?

I would have sworn that there was a way to prevent hyphenation in a single location without adding the word to the (global!) hyphenation dictionary. Now that I need it, I cannot find it. Was this feature merely the product of a hallucination?

Re: Selecting all footnotes (a variant)

In the meantime, I'll do it manually, footnote by footnote. Well, there's no need for that, either. Couldn't you just create an empty new document with the same styles, paste each "new" portion into that document, make the style changes you need to, and then copy and paste the edited text into the ...

I quite agree with suavito on this count.

Re: Selecting all footnotes (a variant)

After importing/opening the RTF with footnotes in Mellel, select the menu option Insert > Notes > Edit Note Attributes. Change the Note Style from "RTF Footnotes+" to your preferred footnote style and click OK. The style change should be immediate and applied to all footnotes.

Re: 3.0 Wish List

Nobody seems to talk about indexing any more. Have we given up on this feature? Indexing was listed on the road map the Redlers published some time ago, so I'm pretty sure it's still on the table. I'm not entirely certain why I think this, but I believe indexing may be slated for the next version. ...

Re: Confusion with page style edit dialog, odd/even page margins

It is indeed impossible to set page margins independently, but DylanMuir's use case makes a strong argument for building that function in for future releases.

Re: Mellel 3.0 wish list

The Redlers solved my problem but reimagined my proposed solution. I made my request so that I could set different headers & footers for pages after the first page in a Mellel "section" without having to insert a Page Style Break that would interrupt the flow of the text (and have to be moved with e...

The new page style options have rendered my request obsolete! (Thanks, Redlers!)
