Many thanks for trying to reproduce this issue
Let's wait and see what Avner has to say. I haven't seen him here for a while, but I suppose he'll be back soon.

Re: Getting rid of residual citation markers

Hi Joseph, My previous suggestion was based on marker colors, but now, after I inserted real temporary citations from Bookends, I get the same result as you. Paste Character Attributes is indeed grayed out. "Browse All Versions" doesn't show up as an option for me under "Revert," so I wasn't able to...

Re: Getting rid of residual citation markers

I can't see any obvious way to remove these traces of the previous citations so that I can start over. Any advice on this topic would be much appreciated. Did you try to revert to an older version via File > Revert To > Browse All Versions…? You could also just select the highlighted text and paste...

Re: Shortcut for Small Caps

For Antidote, I use Mellel and I don't want to use Nisus (it isn't properly update[d], and the user interface is a shame for retina screens). Thanks Gustave, I didn't know that. I don't have Retina. [the] More we request Antidote integration, [the] more the developers of Mellel would make it a real...

Re: Shortcut for Small Caps

Is there a shortcut for Small Caps in Mellel 4 ? I try to create one in the macOS system but it doesn't work (it need to be on a Menu on Mellel). It seems Mellel's idea is to create a character style for this purpose rather than give you a Format menu, from where you can directly apply attributes t...

any character attributes are applied to the entire search expression, and you cannot apply them to just one element.
Yes, that's what I noticed too. Thanks for the confirmation.

Re: TOC doesn't appear in the PDF

The first time I tried, I only used the print dialog from the File menu > Print > Save as PDF. The result is still no TOC. I somehow overlooked the Export command from the File menu, so I tried that now, and it works. Thanks Peter for drawing my attention to this Export command. There used to be iss...

TOC doesn't appear in the PDF

When I export a Mellel 4 document with a Table of Contents as PDF, the TOC doesn't appear in the PDF. Is this a known issue? I'm on Sierra 10.12.3.

How to search for English and Italian text?

Is it possible to build a search criteria for all text having the language attributes "English" and "Italian" and mark (= replace) them with blue text color? I mean *one* search, not two searches where I would first search for text in English, replace it with blue color, and then search for all Ital...

Re: Custom numbering unit in Auto-Title, etc.

Regarding the notes […] this isn't the expected behavior. I'm having the same issue as legaltalks, but it took me some time to figure out what he meant. So for clarification, I'm going to rephrase his comment. • If you have already assigned an Auto-title to a paragraph, there is no way to create a ...

I was able to get it to run fine on both Everywhere and In Selection selected following your instructions.
Good to know then that it's just a local issue. Thank you Avner for your help.

Re: How to quickly assign Auto-titles to bold paragraphs?

If what you want to do is navigate public domain books from Gutenberg, Bartleby, and the like for reading purposes, their HTML (online) and EPUB (offline) versions have built-in navigational aids these days. I wouldn’t myself import a book into a word processor simply in order to navigate it more c...

Re: help with small problems

I did not find a ‘find&replace’ which permitted global replacement of ‘line-break’ with ¶ (return). Can't you insert "Line break" from the Insert menu > Breaks > Line break into the Find box and Return (also from the Insert menu) into the Replace box? Also a fair amount of Greek had been copied fro...

Changing the background color of citations

I find the purple background color of citations very distracting.
Is there any way to change the color to, let's say, light gray?

I wonder what other forum members think about this. Perhaps it's just a matter of habituation…
