Re: Style problems
I’m not used to Hebrew writing, but maybe you’ve only applied one style. Mellel has a lot of different styles that serves different needs. In a normal text, you could apply a page style (which holds the settings in the “Page” palette, a Section Style (which applies things like columns) and a Paragra...

Re: list of specific words?
There’s no specific feature in Mellel to create such a list. You could find out how often you’ve typed dog by the following procedure but I guess that this “manual” process won’t fit your needs: 1. Open the “Find…” window either by hitting [Command] + [F] or via the Edit > Find > Find… menu item 2. ...

Re: Replace and swap elements
You can do this in Mellel too. Fist, you have to do the Find part. As I don’t know your search criteria, I use “Mary” and “Wilson” in this example but you use put more sophisticated search strings than those. So insert: Mary (whitespace) Wilson into your search field. (comments in round parenthesis ...

Re: Creating an index
As already presumed, Auto-Numbering-Palette was the old name for the same thing. It have been changed in Mellel at some 1.x version but the short guide you’ve used haven't been updated since then.

I typically don’t correct other poster’s comments, but as you post as Stephen and Amanda, your post should write: we’re just excited…stephenandamanda wrote:I'm just excited about the coming cross-refs.

Re: Feature request: Text alignment option: center justified
Force-justifying the whole block instead of the last line, on the other hand, would mean a completely new problem for programming. So I would plead not to complicate matters too much. Because then we will probably never have it. It’s not my intention to complicate things. I think the Redlers have s...

Re: Feature request: Text alignment option: center justified
Of course that is possible, but 1. than you have a line below the paragraph which you probably don't want. 2. a real force justified will not only force the last line, which looks ugly, but will balance the whole paragraph I think. But as said before: of course this would be nice but there is no re...

Re: Feature request: Text alignment option: center justified
In seldom cases this would be helpful indeed. But I would think if this option will be added to be complete also "justified, last line right" and "forced justified" (which justifies the last line too) should also be there. Force justified (even if it looks ugly in most cases) ca...

Re: footer problem
I am sorry for a maybe long-answered question or for my own incompetence but I am unable to create a footer with page number (automatically for any page). 1. Open Mellel 2. Select and Open the “Page” palette. 3. Check the “All/Odd Footer” Checkbox and depending on your needs also the “Show First Pa...

As it really looks like a problem within Mellel, you may want to contact the Redlers directly and send them one of the “corrupt” files if their content isn’t too secret:

Re: Mellel won't open mellel docs in Leopard
But I have repeatedly tried importing other Word docs to see if it's just me going insane but with the same results - those that originate from the Windows Word work (i.e., they import and save as filename.mellel and then will open again if closed), those from the Mac Word don't (will save as filen...

Re: I don’t like multiple exclamation marks!
Exporting to .DOC format (Word) and RTF are two completely different things. That’s not true anymore. Mellel have used the OS X .doc exporter in older versions but since over a year ago, the Redlers changed this behavior as the .RTF exporter became better than the .DOC exporter. (I think that was i...
