Re: Back in Mellel: Questions on endnotes and on exporting s

We haven't given up interest. I can't speak to other users, but I personally have moved on from Mellel. I believe it was over 5 years ago when Mellel updated their XML format, and at that time I requested the format's DTD/XSD. Eyal said they would publish Mellel's format spec, but that has never hap...

Re: Misalignment of diacritics in Hebrew text

What about any of the Culmus fonts?

More on topic, the reason the diacritics would misalign is because of improper anchor points in the font itself. It may also have to do whether internally the fonts are TrueType or Postscript; OpenType fonts allow the fonts to be encoded as either.

It will import OPML.
If that's the case, then I suppose the topic is closed, right? If you wanted to import your Auto-Titles via OPML, and Mellel does this ...

Re: request: emacs keys

It is very unlikely this will happen. Most applications use standard OS text controls for displaying/entering text, which natively support EMACS bindings. However, Mellel's text engine is not from Apple, and therefore it does not support these bindings. However, while you lose EMACS bindings, you ga...

Re: Anybody do Web Site development around Mellel?

I'm not sure I am understanding your question/request ... What are you looking for? Mellel is a word processor, for creating documents for print. Are you looking for a web prototyping tool? Something for layout/wireframing? Content publishing or CMS? I honestly cannot think of any scenario in web de...

Re: Auto-Titles - simple instructions, please!

I have a question. I have saved the styles I want for character and paragraph; also I've changed the layout for the auto-title )for the different levels, but the font that the auto-title uses is courier whereas I want Times Roman. What should I do now please to change courier to a font I want. Open...

Re: Auto-Titles - simple instructions, please!

There's a rather extensive chapter in the Mellel Guide that covers Auto-Titles (as well as Mentions and Style Sets). To read the Guide, select “Mellel Guide” from the “Help” menu. Because the concept of Auto-Titles, Auto-Title title flows, Style Sets and other linked topics (such as Mentions) are so...

Re: iPad and Mac sync

As I understand it, you can manually store your files in 'iCloud Drive', and access them from both Mac and iOS. However, all your Macs must be on Yosemite or later, your iOS devices must be running iOS 8 or later, and you must have upgraded your AppleID to use iCloud Drive. In this manner, iCloud Dr...

Re: iPad and Mac sync

Correct. Only applications purchased through Apple's Mac App Store can access iCloud Sync, because it needs to be signed by Apple. (At least, that was the case when it was unveiled. Apple may have changed their developer rules, but I am unaware of such a change. This was one method Apple used to for...

So it sounds like you notes are properly imported. Have you tried to apply a style to them through the Insert > Note > Edit note attributes… dialog? That should allow you to override all of your existing footnotes ...

Re: Selecting all footnotes

I suppose I might be missing something. Are the notes you want to style not actually imported into a note stream, but are instead body text? If that's the case, then I don't believe there is anything you can to select them en masse. However, if they are imported as notes, then getting them styled sh...

Change your document's footnote attributes in the 'Edit style sets…', or use the 'Edit note attributes…' option.

Re: Collaborating using rtf format plus Bookends

Robert, I am missing your point. To send someone a file to mark up in Word, I normally export to rtf. I then open in the Word application and save-as to Word, which reduces file size by a factor of perhaps 10. I then send that. Is there a step I could skip? Yes, just send the RTF document. If you w...

Re: Collaborating using rtf format plus Bookends

RTF is actually a Microsoft Word native format. The specs for the RTF format are updated each time Microsoft releases a new version of Word, and every feature that Word supports is actually part of the RTF spec. There should be no need to open the RTF in Word to convert to a Word format, because RTF...
