I often work with documents containing characters (words) in two alphabets (Greek and Roman). Since I didn't want a new document to open on start-up, I never got that far. I see that once I set the default template I can then reset preferences to do nothing on startup, and yet Command-N does open the template I've chosen.

Command-N opens, I think, Standard.mtem in Template folder (Library/Application Support/Mellel). If I understand, this would be solved by multiple clipboards--a feature of Nisus I miss in Mellel. (Of course one would also want to be able to assign keyboard shortcuts!)

Along with those multiple clipboards comes the ability to edit the clipboard. A nice touch.
