Could we please have the spellchecking back again? It stopped working at one of the latest updates. The matter is also mentioned in a thread in the Mellel-forum.

Re: Spell Catcher and Mellel
Well, since Mellel's spellchecker gave up, quite recently, I use The Concise Oxford Dictionary and look very closely at what I have written. But I would like to have the electronic one back.

Re: Spell Catcher and Mellel
Sorry, I had misunderstood. I did not even know of the existence of Spell Catcher. I was just talking of the ordinary spelling facility in Mellel in the Edit menu. That is what does not work for me, but used to.

Re: Not a bug, but … (vers. 3.x)
I tried to reproduce my old problem of the automatic line numbering for Eyal, but lo and behold: it is gone. I think I had it quite recently, but now the problem appears to have been solved.

Re: Not a bug, but … (vers. 3.x)
I agree, and now we are at it, could we also, please, NOT have the line numbers automatically on in imported documents? (This is a renewal of a request from 18 March).

doc and docx import
Mellel 3 is full of interesting features, I am sure, but I was very disappointed to find that it will still not import doc and docx properly. Doc format loses footnotes and docx cannot be imported at all. One can slide the icon of a docx file onto the Mellel icon and open the file, but footnotes are...

Re: importing rtf
I downloaded LibreOffice 3.5 and it seems good. I had never heard of it. But when I open the infamous 2.jpg (rtf'ed by Open Office) in LibreOffice the Greek is displayed as (I think) Chinese except for the accentuated vowels which remain correct. This would seem to be an error in OpenOffice, not in ...

Re: importing rtf
Thank you both of you. I am in a way reassured that you get the same result as I, but what to do? Januss' solution will loose me all footnotes, if I am not mistaken.

importing rtf
I often have to convert (using GreekKeys Converter) older formats of Greek (e.g. SMK) to Unicode and then import (typically from Word) into Mellel. I have long had Word X to open files and save them as rtf. Now with Lion, I can no longer use Word X and saw this as a chance not to have Word at all. T...

Line numbering in imported text
Whenever I import text to Mellel, which is very often, they are always shown with line numbering switched on. It is easy enough to switch it off, but it would be even easier if I did not have to do that. Is there an option I have missed?

Re: replacing all occurrences of font A with font B
It is quite possible to change a font into another: F&R choose 'anything' and then choose the font in the font palette. Replace by 'found element' and again choose the font you want in the palette. It is of course a lot easier to change character-style if you have been consistent in using them -...

Insert with font from character viewer
It used to be possible to insert symbols and oddities from the character viewer by selecting the glyph in the table and then setting the cursor at the right place in the text, and then clicking on 'insert with font' in the character viewer. This does not seem to work any longer, and I cannot remembe...

Re: footnotes at bottom of page
Answer, I don't know, but you are no doubt right that the subjects are related, and my simple problem may have a very complicated solution. I'd still like a solution though. As it is, it means that one cannot use sections at all in a long text with footnotes.

Re: footnotes at bottom of page
Footnotes at the bottom of the page normally work well, but if the page contains a section-break, the notes appear at the end of the section, not at the bottom of the pages. Is this a bug, or am I doing something wrong? Well, I wrote this about 18 months ago and was told that it was not a bug and th...
