Re: Mellel ignores trailing blanks (spaces) in centered text
I'd like Mellel to show trailing spaces on screen while I am typing so I know they are there, but not to use them in the centring of the text, as they really shouldn't affect that. This would allow users to see if their text had spaces it needed/didn't need, but would centre the text properly as Mel...

Re: Bug or design fault in Mellel's Styles editor?
Yep, it was a mistake on my part to delete essential data, but no, I didn't get an error message, I got corrupted styles and the only means of recovery was to reinstall Mellel. I think it has to be regarded as a bug or a design fault if the program allows you to delete data when it can't function wi...

Bug or design fault in Mellel's Styles editor?
I found some odd behaviour recently in the styles editor when tackling my ignorance of how to edit and use styles properly. Not understanding them very well yet I decided to tackle that, and started by deleting too many of them. In fact I deleted some styles that Mellel required for creation of the ...

Re: List with nested numbers
I was looking for exactly that kind of numbering in Mellel and was disappointed that the program doesn't provide it. Such numbering is normal in many documents and I felt it should be there in Mellel, especially since it does so many other things well. Looking at what Mellel does do, it seems that t...

Re: Adding/Deleting Paragraph & Character Styles
If you want to use that style in other documents it's easy, though not well explained in the guide. 1. Load the document with the style in it that you want. 2. Select the "Style Set" menu from the menu bar and go to "Edit Style Sets". 3. Select the Style you require for use in ot...

Re: [Discussion] Cross referencing
What about a quoted Cross Reference? e.g. "See Page 32 Dangers of overheating ... This allows you to quote the first part of the text you are referring to, and updates it if you edit that text. Sometimes it's the clearest way of ensuring that the reader finds the passage being referenced as qui...

Re: ‘Wobbly’ Scrolling
I have a Mellel document where the document within the application windows oscillates slightly from side-to-side as I scroll through the document. The slightly disconcerting thing is that the ruler within the frame of the Mellel window does the same thing. I’ve had this for a number of Mellel relea...

Whoever it was who doubted the extreme zooms, I'll stand up for them. I use 1600% occasionally, to line things up. Well that's good news, they are some use to some people then. I still find it puzzling that we can't type in our own percentage; I repeat, of all the applications I use with a zooom fa...

Precise zoom percentages make it possible to make your onscreeen work actual size on a wider range of monitors, and having a page exactly at the actual printed size is helpful in some design work. In addition being able to enlarge things as much as needed but no more than needed helps to balance wor...

Re: Mellel 2.1.1: localisations, paste special, zoom, more
• More zoom levels: There are now 21 zoom levels. Yep, lots of zoom levels and most of them of no use. What I want, and what I think others wanted when they requested this be improved, is more zoom levels between 100% and 200%, and for that matter, why on Earth can't I just click on the number and ...
