Re: Numbering Figures
Hello grebmar,
Delete all text, except one or two words in each section, and then upload the file.
I can then tell you which part needs to be fixed.
How about using modern communication technics! :–)I don't know why there should be any difference.

Re: Numbering Figures
Where Heading 1 is for unnumbered headings, Header 2 is for chapter titles I guess this (unconventional?) use of Heading 1 is confusing grebmar. I find it more straight forward to use just paragraph styles for unnumbered headings, such as Title, Appendix and such. If Heading 1 is used for Chapter 1...

I'm glad I could help.
Nice weekend to you too and to the other very few Mellel members who are still reading the posts in this forum.

Re: Hyperlinks
Hi Rob, Are you talking about text with hyperlinks you copied from a website? If yes, why don't you just paste the text as plain text into Mellel? Or, after importing is there a way of globally removing the hyperlink and converting it to text without going to each individual link and changing it? I ...

Re: Formatting Autotitle Elements
Hi, When I said I can't see how Appendix 5.A.1. can be created with an Auto-title I was trying to do it with Level 1, which doesn't have any "Previous Level #". The option "Previous Level #" begins with Level 2. The Autotitle in question is defined as Appendix Prev1. Prev5. Prev ...

Re: Formatting Autotitle Elements
Hello Paul, To beginn with, are you talking about Auto-Titles (= Level 1 to 10) or Tag Flows? I don't see how you can create an Auto-Title as Appendix 5.A.1,I, so I assume you're talking about Tag Flows, which—to make make things unnecessary complicated— are unfortunately also sometimes referred to ...

How to find characters *preceded by* certain letters
Let's say I have a document that looks something like this: Text, text, text DOI: 10.1017/CBO9781107295636.005 Text 12.1047/CBO9781107295636.005 DOI: 16.1017/CBO9781107295636.005 text text 18.1047/CBO9781107295636.005 I want to find only the characters FOLLOWED BY the string "doi:", not th...

After editing note attributes, unnecessary scrolling to the beginning of a document
Let's say, I'm somewhere in the middle of a Mellel document when I open the note attributes pane in order to check/change some note formatting attributes (Insert –> Note –> Edit note attributes.) When I click on the OK button to close the pane, Mellel always scrolls to the beginning of the document ...

Is it possible to search for document variables in a document?
I inserted a document variable into a very long document, then saved and closed it. I then later realized that I might have inserted the variable at a wrong place, but I'm having a hard time finding the location where I inserted it because I'm not the author and thus not yet familiar with the conten...

Re: Footnotes at the Bottom of Page, Not Section
footnotes […] appear mid-page, at the end of a section, rather than at the bottom of the page. How can I fix this? Seems Mellel users have been waiting already 12 years for this to be fixed. See the last post in this thread: http://forum.mellel.com/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=1121&start=15 You shou...

Re: Footnotes in the right margin?
Thanks for explaining how to send screenshots in this forum!
You can't apply style(s) directly to the text box itself, but you can select the text *in* the text box and then assign style(s) to it .

Re: Footnotes in the right margin?
Hello Beck, Congratulations! You are the first member who has managed to send a screenshot in this forum! At least yours is the only one I have ever seen. It used to be generally accepted that it was not possible. I asked a question regarding screenshots two years ago after having tried unsuccessful...
