Reiner, I installed your hyphenation dictionary and played a little with it. As far as I can say it works very well! Two examples may illustrate that: "schließlich" was hyphenated as "schlie-ßlich" and "Rechtsstaatlichkeit" would come out as "Rechts-s-taat-lich-kei...

Authors’ names in Japanese, for instance, do not work with the “date only” %. In order to keep Japanese (and Chinese) word order and to include original orthography, a comma is used in Bookends to keep the authors’ (and editors') name as one unit: e.g., "Tanaka Taro 田中太郎,". When scanned, ...

Mellel's hompage hinting at initials as new Mellel feature?

I just saw that the Redlers have redone their home-page. It shows a screen-shot of a dummy Mellel document called "The Daily Barker". In this document, the first paragraph starts with an initial. How did they do this? I have been under the impression that there was no function for this in ...

Re: Bibliography feature questions

The thing that took me a bit to figure out is that to get the formatted citation to be what I want I need to go to Biblio>Formats Manager, choose a Format, click on 'Edit', then choose 'Bib and Citation options', then choose 'Custom citation format'. This last item then needs to be edited (Biblio>F...

Shayne, it seems you have not properly set the format in Bookends. Without going into details too much, Bookends serves as a database from which Mellel receives information on how to format a given reference when scanning the document. In order for this to work, you have to enter reference informati...

Just another thought on this: D'Espice, you are using the latest version of Mellel? That is 2.2.5. I think there was something about long documents slowing down in the bug fixes of this update.

Yes, I also fully support this request. It takes too long to change the format right now.

Re: Additional auto-titel item called <Alternative Title&

This should work the same way as the "Title" item currently does. But it would allow for the creation of a short title that would fit in one line. I could use "Title" as heading format and "alternative title" as mention. The alternative title could be entered in the sa...

After playing around with paragraph spacing a little bit more, it seems that the new feature compares the spacing values of two consecutive paragraphs and sets the spacing between the two so as it will match the higher value. E.g. if para one is "space after 2" and the following para two h...

Re: Mellel 2.2.5 is out...

Paragraphs "Space above" option calculated based on largest spacing value. Does this mean that the before/after spacing values are no longer additive, but that they now function similar to Word's before/after spacing? I first thought it would be as you described, but it seems not to work ...
