Re: Zotero integration

Hi, Danny pointed me to this discussion. Support for MLA citation disambiguation was added to Bookends in version 10.4, and several tweaks have been made since then based on user feedback. The current issue seems to be that the short title should be in quote marks if the citation is to an article, b...

Re: Ibid appears as first citation, using Bookends

Hi,

Just wandering by and saw this. This is a problem with Bookends, not Mellel. Please download Bookends 10.5 again, it should be fixed. If you still have problems, please followup to Sonny Software tech support (support@sonnysoftware.com).

Re: Mellel 2.6 and Sente 5.7.2

The scan broke (for some formats) because of changes made in Mellel 2.6. Ori has said that an update to fix this will be issued very soon -- it should work with Bookends 9.x as before.

Re: Mellel 2.6 and Sente 5.7.2

Hi,

Download Bookends 10.4.3 (do it again if you already have it) -- it will work with Mellel 2.6.

Re: Dealing with unsuccessfully converted {} citations

Hi, I just happened to wander in and saw your post. If you have questions specific for Bookends, you're more likely to get an answer if you post on the Sonny Software forum (http://www.sonnysoftware.com/phpBB3/index.php). In any case, in response to your question about retaining reference numbers wh...

Hi Klaus, you're registered on the Bookends forum, so these posts should continue there, I think. But briefly, there is no problem with umlauts entered with a US keyboard (it's the only kind I've got). I think rpcameron may have put his finger on the problem, which is precomposed unicode. FWIW, I en...

Please register for our forum again -- your request may have been deleted in our regular sweep for spambot registrations. As for finding words with characters having umlauts, that of course should work. I wonder if you index needs updating? To see if that's the case, please rebuild your database and...

I was passing by and had to comment on the last post, which I infer to mean that one of the nice features of Mellel and Bookends integration may not be widely known. The full text of each citation is embedded so we could implement the sync feature. That is, if you are collaborating with others using...

I can do a little better, perhaps. If you create one citation Smith, title, date\, as cited by and place a second citation object immediately after it (no spaces between them) I get something like: (Smith, 2000, as cited by; Jones, 2006) Note there is a semicolon that you'll have to remove, but it's...

Hi, I just had to step in. The problem is that you are inserting a temporary citation (which is a placeholder of sorts) into Mellel when you seem to want the final (resolved) citation without scanning. To do this, do NOT Edit -> Copy Citation in Bookends. Instead, Edit -> Copy Formatted. Mellel know...

Re: Q. about citations

{Habermas 1999 #10101 \cited by \}{Larmore 1999 \p.612, Larmore’s translation. Rehg’s translation has “taken as a whole” instead of “in their collectivity”\} I'm not sure exactly what you are doing, but you can't have two citations in one Mellel citation object. If you place the two citation object...
