Re: creating new style sets

The "Update document styles" button is checked. I assume that means that it should follow the modified style set.

Re: creating new style sets

I am also having difficulty figuring out global style sets. The Global button on the "Edit style sets" window is greyed out for all my style sets. I assume this means they are already global. I changed a style set (called "Outline") on document A to make it work consistently over...

Re: Continuous list numbering?

I, too, would find such a renumbering system useful. For example, the way lists work now, each item must be a single paragraph. It would be nice to have multiple paragraphs in a single item on the list.

Thank you. I knew there had to be a simple solution, but it might be easier if you included a menu of these items directly on the find window in a future version.

Searching for certain characters

I have looked at the manual, the tutorial, and fiddled extensively with the search/replace feature, but I cannot figure out how to search/replace tabs or returns or other non-text characters in the document. neither can be entered directly. Am I missing something?

Thank you for the solution. After playing with replace styles a bit, I found out how to do this. Now if I could select more than one footnote at once to replace styles...

I would second this notion. I am new to Mellel and Bookends and find them to be great products, but the styles problem from imported text needs to be resolved somehow, especially the text from Bookends. And, as far as I know, _all_ Mac programs use ad hoc styling, so importing any styled text presen...

Adding .doc does work. Thank you. Such a simple solution, although many files now need the .doc extension!

Now it looks like a bug on my office computer. My laptop at home loaded .doc files fine with 2.1.1, a new install of 2.1.1 on my office computer still has the same problem. It looks like I'm stuck with converting everything to RTF to convert. :(

2.1 bug?

I am slowly converting Word files to Mellel, but since I've installed 2.1, Mellel no longer imports .doc files. I get an error window that says (approximately) that the file "cannot be imported because of the following error: no error."

Anybody else have this problem?
