Re: Auto-title Find and Replace?

I tried to import OPML, but Mellel quits unexpectedly every time.

Re: Anybody do Web Site development around Mellel?

I am no more certain than Cameron about what you mean. But if you want to see a website, a scentific journal in fact, where all the papers are edited in Mellel, here is one aigis.igl.ku.dk But of course, Mellel is used only for creating the pdf files. The actual html web-work is done in Dreamweaver....

Re: Dealing with a large doc

A related question: Is there a way to sew together multiple Mellel docs? Also, is there a way to print sections easily? Melle is 'cottage industry' where both these procedures are concerned: cut and paste. In the case of sewing together several files: choose all, copy and paste. If you want to prin...

Re: Selecting all footnotes

Thank you. It did not work. Maybe Mellel could just add a select all footnotes feature. Seems simple enough feature. If Word can do it … certainly Mellel can! But it does work. Are you sure you have done everything Cameron said? Creating a new note-style in 'edit style sets' and then applying it th...

Re: Table-Cell Formatting

I have just, today, imported a table with lots of figures using rtf. Some of the figures were red and passed into Mellel as red. No problem. But it was the figures, not the cells, that were red.

Re: Spell Check problems

Your problem sounds only too familiar. Try searching threads like spelling, spell check and the like, and you will find tons of correspondence and complaints about the complication of this in Mellel. Eyal once wrote a good explanation, and if you follow it exactly, it works. But it is complicated. I...

Re: Mellel on ipad

Your problem 2: Fonts that are in parentheses in the list are old ones, no longer supported. If you try to write in such a font, or import a file where it has been used, it will be replaced. I have several like that, e.g. the old system-font New York. I think it has something to do with Unicode-comp...

Re: Style set of a document has been lost

You are right, of course. One cannot save a style like that, and the procedure I suggested does not work. Perhaps it is an error in the program. I have been the only one to try and help, but now I do not know what to suggest. Anyone else?

Re: Style set of a document has been lost

I see, at least I think I see. You will have to save all the individual styles in your document: not the palette, but the styles>paragraph → (at the bottom of the list will be the style in which you have put the cursor with the option 'edit') - they will be saved into the default set and will appear...

Re: Style set of a document has been lost

Let me get this right. When you open 'styles' > 'edit style sets' you have a number of columns. The left one represents the style sets and at the bottom of it there are icons for 'add' 'duplicate' 'delete' and then, to the right, a globe for making style set global. Is this missing?

Re: Style set of a document has been lost

I have had something similar happening, but it is not that serious: the styles are not lost, and if it is important, all you have to do is to define these 'document only' styles as global. I do not remember exactly how and why it happened for me, but perhaps something to do with the passage to 3.4? ...

Re: Insert special characters

Curious! I am afraid that the simple answer is that they are not there. Has the list been accidentally shortened in a recent update of Mellel? I started up an old computer with Mellel 2.5 but there it is the same. The easy solution, and the reason why nobody seems to have noticed this, is of course ...

Re: Mellel menu Language

As far as know Mellel adapts to your system language, i.e. if you speak German with your computer, Mellel will also speak German to you, but if you change the system language, Mellel will also change.

Go to preferences>Document setup where you will find 'Comment Character Attributes'. Click in the rectangle 'AaBbCc' and your font attributes palette then regulates the comments.
Hope this helps

Re: Problems Exporting to Word Doc

Glad it helped. As for the default style, in your place, I should work my changes on a copy of the default-set, so as to keep the reference version. Style-changes that you just save are kept for the document in question only. In Styles>edit style set you have the option to make a style-set global by...
