Re: Custom Page Size - Totally Confused

My sign is a meter and a half square (5 feet by 5 feet)
I defined a custom page size of 150 by 150 cm and was able to view it on Mellel by reducing the display window to 25%.
Export/rdf gave me a file measuring 1.5 m square which is what the printer required.

Re: Custom Page Size - Totally Confused

By the way, I used this trick to create a 150 x 150 cm sign -- the printer needed to receive the pdf in actual size -- I set the Mellel page view at 25%ç Worked beautifully.

Re: OpenType help

When I need special glyphs I use the tools provided by Mac OS (under the flag menu) First I would check Show Keyboard Vier -- many alternate forms are available using the alt key. If the forms you need are there then you simply type them in, If not, use Show Emoji and Symbols -- navigate to the Open...

Feature request: Accessibility -- vision

I'm having vision problems and rely heavily on Apple's Accessibility options. What I need from Mellel is the ability to increase the size of all the menus and options. In the palettes, for example, I can't read the names of the character styles [I guess which is which based on their order/ Any impro...

FILE/PAGE SETUP -- PRINTING TO AN OFF-LINE PRINTER

Friends, I need to create a one-[age document -- a large sign -- which will be printed by an off-line printer. The sign is 50x110cm I tried to define this size using File/Page setup, but it defaults back to A4 which is the size of my home printer. Two questions 1. How can I get Mellel to create a do...

Re: Page Style Break Question

I don't have an answer to your question, but I am curios to know why you've chosen to work the way you have.

1. Why not use a single page style with different odd and even pages?

2. How are you going to deal with the flow of text from one page to the next?

Re: Exporting document in WORD Format

We have success!!

Abe's problem was indeed buried in his ad hoc page parameters.

Re: Exporting document in WORD Format

Simple in Styles/Edit Style sets -- Click on Paragraph, click the + button and give the new style a name say "STAM," click the pencil to edit it, make a change for example, set alignment to center), click on save -- continue the process for List, Section, Note, index, Table -- and finally,...

Re: Exporting document in WORD Format

I'd forgotten about the one-in-each-category business. So, just to get started, create a style called "STAM" in each category with a minimal content. Later you will want to go back and add real styles, but for now we need to focus on the page style which is most likely the cause of the pro...

Re: Exporting document in WORD Format

Aha I guessed as much -- when I started using Mellel. I also ignored style sets. I defined all my character/paragraph/page parameters "ad hoc" [one-by-one, on the fly]. The difference is that I started with very short documents. By the time I got around to creating more serious stuff, I un...

Re: Exporting document in WORD Format

Please, Abe, have you checked all the parameters I mentioned in my previous rep;y? I'm almost certain that you will find some conflict between the page and document definitions and the page styles in use, Also, it is always best, especially with a long document, to avoid ad hoc style definitions -- ...

Re: Exporting document in WORD Format

I've never seen anything like this, but I think you should make a few basic checks 1. File/Page Setup make sure all the parameters are correct 2. Preferences/General and Preferences/Document Setup make sure all the parameters are correct 3. Styles/Edit Page Styles/Page have you defined several style...
