Re: Page margins incorrect in print

When I click on paper size A4, I get a list of all the options and to the right of each is an arrow. Click on the arrow and the choices are A4 [default] and A4 borderless. Perhaps this is a function of the printer you are using. I have an HP Officejet 6950. I seemed to remember seeing the A4 borderl...

Re: Page margins incorrect in print

Chris, I doubt if this is the answer, but just in case check out File/Page setup/Paper Size.
There are two definitions to "A4," regular A4 and borderless.
I you using the correct one for your work?

Surprise -- Right-to-Left booklets

Friends, We all get used to working a certain way with a specific subset of an applications options. I try to break this habit by regularly "walking-through" windows and settings I don't ordinarily touch. Yesterday I had a very pleasant surprise: in Print/Layout/two-sided=booklet, select t...

Re: Page smaller than it should when printed

Curiouser and curiouser The only two places left where Mellel changes the look of printed out are in -- File/Page Setup [make sure you have 100% selected] and -- the Print/Mellel 4/Layout, but I don't know what you could do there to create the affect you describe. Maybe try adding an annotation, del...

Re: Page smaller than it should when printed

MonE, one thing that might cause this is annotations (comments)
-- if you select Export annotations [lower left of the Export to pdf window], and
-- if you have used annotations with this document but none currently appear on this page
then you will get exactly what you describe.

Re: signature

Of course, there's an obvious work-around: scan your signature into a jpeg file and insert that file in the text when you need it.

Re: A call for tables

Tables can be very convenient with translations, particularly in my case: Hebrew/English. -- Hebrew is right-to-left and tends to be very terse. -- English is left-to-right and wordy. I can make the English column wider than the Hebrew one. Also, if the Hebrew has NIKUD (vowel marks), I usually set ...

Re: A call for tables

Keyboard shortcuts: Would you prefer if we flipped the shortctus around? Tab for tab and command+tab to switch to the next cell? Of course! The tab should function as a tab and some other shortcut should ve used to jump to the next cell, alt-tab or some other. UI for setting line attributes: Is the...

Re: A call for tables

Most of the tables I use are small and simple. 1. The thing I'm missing most are -- the ability to center a table automatically -- in-line tables, alongside of text 2. I find the definition of keyboard shortcuts annoying: in order to insert a tab into the text I have to press alt-tab because the tab...

Re: Bug in 4.1 - underlining / stroke through with certain fonts

By the way, JBQ, I think you will find that 2017 is when the font file was stored on your system, but, if you check the info page for Hoefler Text in FontBook, you will see that the font was last updated in 2007.

Re: Bug in 4.1 - underlining / stroke through with certain fonts

JBQ, I can't repeat your problem with Arial or Times or any of the fonts I generally use,
but I definitely see it with Hoefler text.

Maybe this is an old version of the font that needs upgrading. The version I have is from 2007.

Re: Numbering of (total) pages per page format / section

heartsore, what you are looking for is a page variable that gives to total pages in a section and not the total pages in a document. This doesn't exist, but I do have two workarounds for you 1. The obvious: do this manually. The number of pages of your "formal stuff" is not likely to chang...

Re: Table cells size

I've never actually felt the need to control the size of the cells per se -- I just let the character/paragraph attributes take control. On occasion I've used cell padding as well. Frankly, I can't think of a usage that would require a specific cell size. Text does are another story -- they can be t...

Re: Table cells size

Hi all, I don't find where I can define the size of the cells of a table (in cm or other measure) in the Table palette. Thanks in advance for the answers. Robin You are correct, Robin, but there're two (somewhat messy) work-arounds 1. set the cel size manually using the rulers as a guide 2. use the...
