Has anyone put together a list of helpful do's and don'ts for collaboration with Word as the mechanism? Exporting Mellel to Word via RTF works pretty well, but I am aware of at least a few apparent problems. You're right. That works too. It seems to me that Mellel needs to fix something so that the rippling through always occurs. I doubt that there is a significant situation in which one wants the note stream and note sytle to be out of synch.

Unfortunately, I've checked and double-checked the items you mention. Yes, I have endnotes and footnotes, but I'm talking about endnotes. Yes, I've changed the Reference Symbol format to None. Very peculiar.

If one has created a table and then merged all cells in one of its rows, that degenerate row cannot always be deleted: the delete-cells tool is gray.
