Re: Cross references and bookmarks

Is there a way to go back from the bookmark place to its cross reference easily. Yes, you can option double click the bookmark to jump to the reference, you can also right-click the bookmark and choose "Jump to reference" in the contextual menu. This also works for images and auto-title t...

Re: Changing font in footnotes

Choose Insert->Note->Edit Note Attributes and select a different character style in the "Note text style" section's "Character" popup menu.

Re: Page numbering

You need to insert a Page Style Break (not a section break), once you did that you can set each "page range" page numbering differently.

Re: Dealing with a large doc

Hi Federico, A 320 page document should not be as slow as you describe. It could be that you're running Mellel on a particularly slow computer but it could be that the document contains something that Mellel is not well optimized for. If the latter is true, it would be very interesting to see this d...

Re: "use surrounding" problem in cross-references styling

Checking the file, I managed to reproduce this. It does seem like a bug and we'll look into fixing it in the next version.

Re: "use surrounding" problem in cross-references styling

It would be interesting to see that file, it could be a bug and we would like to fix those.
If the file isn't top secret (not that we can't keep a secret :D ) I would be interested to see it.

Re: Bibliography not at end of document

It still seems to me that this only works if you don't un-scan the document to update the citations and bibliography. Do I miss something? It's true that when you unscan, Mellel also removes the bibliography but you don't need to unscan in order to update the citations and bibliography, simply re-s...

Re: Bibliography not at end of document

Currently I move these pages after generating the bibliography. But I need to be careful with this process, otherwise if I generate a new bibliography my pages moved after it are killed. The pages after the bibliography are killed only if they are added as part of the bibliography section (which is...

Re: Mellel 2.5 is here!

Does Mellel prompt you to register when you launch it? Does it say that you're running in Demo mode?

Re: .xml.gz help

Looks like your computer forgot that Mellel documents are document packages (Folders which are presented as a single item in the finder), the .xml.gz file you see is actually the content of the document package. What you need to do is the following: 1. Make sure Mellel is properly installed in the A...

To my knowledge, this is a know issue with Mac OS X that makes it difficult to save document packages on "Services for Macintosh" servers. You get the same issue with text edit rtfd (styled text+images) and pages documents, for example.

Look in your backup folder
~/Library/Application Support/Mellel/Backup

BTW, your system should not crash, applications can and do crash sometimes but an entire system crash should be regarded as a serious warning sign.

This is a bit of a kludge but should work fine till we fill this gap in Mellel's functionality: 1. Locate a note in the text 2. Select the note reference (make sure to select only the reference) 3. Type command+e (this enters the selection into the find dialog) 4. Type command+g to find the next not...

You should contact the makers of LaTeXit, we cannot control their keyboard shortcuts.
