Searching for footnotes

I would like to search a Mellel document for footnotes in the text. But I can't figure out how I could do so. I already tried to assign a particular character style to the reference symbol and then searched for "any character" formatted with this character style. But Mellel will not find a...

Don, I did a little more testing. Encouraged by your report on Mellel's performance with long documents on an iMac G3, I installed the latest version of Mellel on a G3 PowerBook (Pismo) I still have and opened the file on this machine. The results however comparable to what you described. I see the ...

Don, thanks for your input. It is rather good news to hear that it works fine on your G3. I think G4 IMacs are considerably better equipped than G4 iBooks. But since you also see no lagging on a G3, I think it must be a problem on my machine rather than being related to G4 processors in general. But...

Mellel's speed on older Macs (G3/G4)

Hi to all, I have been using Mellel for 2 years now and am overall very satisfied with the application. I share the opinion of many here in the forum that it is a reliable and well implemented word processor that fits the common needs of academics in science and the humanities – or in law, for that ...

Thanks for your replies. @Dylan: The workaround you describe shouldn't create to much of work. I guess I'll do it that way @Ozean: I know about this issue. But it seems Mellel is not consistent in its dealings with small caps. Using Minion Pro for instance will create small caps for all characters s...

Replacing fake small caps stemming from Bookends

Hi, I would like to have use OpenType small caps for authors in my bibliography. I have set the formats accordingly in Bookends, and after the scan I have all author names set in small caps. But since Bookends does not support OpenType fonts features such as small caps, it is all fake small caps. I ...

So for me the list in the palette is completely useless. I only use the buttons on the right. When I look for a reference, I jump to bookends ad search and navigate there. If the list in the palette should be any good to users, it would be necessary to enlarge it (e. g. with a toggle button for sma...

Ok, Endnote X1 is available for download http://www.endnote.com/endemo.asp . What's new: Use AppleScript to automate repetitive tasks. BTW, the 686 pages pdf documentation says nothing at all about AppleScript, you have to check the online for this. I'm curious to see whether this improves exchange...

That really sounds like the situation I described. Reenter the ö using the German layout and it should work.

Actually, I occasionally run into the same or at least related problems. Umlauts are not displayed correctly. They are not "in line" with the letter they belong to. In other words: the umlauts themselves are displayed too far right or left. It turned out that deleting the respective letter...

Footnotes in Word import disappeared

Hi, I have a Word document which I imported into Mellel and all the footnotes are "kind of" gone. The footnote's text is still there. It is appended at the very end of the document, line by line, as if it were endnotes. But all reference numbers have been deleted – both in the text and in ...

I HAVE JUST DISCOVERED THE UPDATED VERSION OF THE HANDBOOK, BUT STILL ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED). I have main ...

Is it correct to hyphenate

correct?

Thanks.
I'd say the latter is correct as the Duden suggests:

Code: Select all

Dear Redlers, I should like to submit a related feature request: Right now, when combining several columns text with one column text, footnotes are not put at the end of the page but at the end of the respective section. This can result in footnotes being put in the middle of a page. This should be ...

Reiner,

I came across one more thing: "d-aneben" should be "da-ne-ben". I am curious. Is this going to be in the rules or will it be an exception?
Otherwise: Great improvement over the original version!
